It seems to be a trend lately..Anywho- My friend from high school proposed to his GF the other day and this is how he did it. He posted it on facebook and I had to share it with the cold hearts of NEY.

I'll be completely honest with you here...contrary to popular belief, I actually don't enjoy having to burst the bubbles of the niave beebees that come strolling through here. The ones that just genuinely seem like they've got the completely wrong idea, or in a completely bad situation. I try and word my response carefully with those girls - I want to get my point across to them, but I don't want to totally destroy their feelings for no good reason. I may be a bitch, but I'm not a heartless one.

The girls that come on here and try to rip us a new one, or tell us what we're supposed to respond with/post, or immediately jump to the conclusion that we're all bitches because we didn't happen to agree with her on something - then it's game on, holmes.

I always think these girls that have their weddings planned out without being engaged get caught offgaurd because the subtitle of the NEY board almost encourages that behaviour. Then they think everyone else is going to be doing the same thing and get this rude awakening that not only are other women on the board not doing this but that they look at this behaviour as BSC.

I really don't like crushing dreams.  I don't wake up in the morning and think "What beebee can I destroy today?!"  Really I don't.  I try to be honest, as I think most of the ladies here do, and sometimes people get offended.  If people can't take the advice we give then they probably didn't really want advice in the first place.  They just wanted validation and that's not how I roll.

I think a lot of is has to do with the top of the forum saying "You've planned your flowers, found a gown...but no ring (yet)? Welcome to NEY."

EDIT:  I just realized I was a day late to the party..oops.

Hetshup- It was on his t-shirt. She had no clue what went on until she saw the photo previews. He then got down on one knee. They also had to pay for the photo, LOL.

I agree that they are looking for validation. I'm just pointing out how without lurking for a bit I can see how these girls can assume the'll get validation with the NEY subtitle. In no way am I saying that what they are doing is right or that they should be getting validation.

But why would anyone do that? I don't mean, like, googling around David's Bridal and daydreaming or gazing at the engagement rings at the jewelry store...
But doesn't the way it's worded sound.... a bit extreme?

And the very fact that it is implied that the whole process must end with a sparkly ring, is just disturbing.

Surely there is a way to adjust this wording, no? Contact Knot Annie or who ever?

Here's a neat fact:
