R.I.P Macy's gift wrap

So my mom and I bought 3 wedding gifts at Macy's for my cousin (2 shower gifts and 1 wedding gift) and obviously, there were HUGE boxes. The last few times Macy's gift wrapped for us and it was a lifesaver. But when we paid for these gifts and asked for gift wrap again, they said they stopped doing that a while ago. BOO!!!

So we had to get about 3-4 rolls of wrapping paper and attempt to do it ourselves. I'm not the best wrapper either, so doing these humungous boxes will be quite a challenge.

I'm sad =[

  • I wrap all of my gifts in aluminum foil.  No scissors or tape needed.
    I'm not good at feelings.

Well it is because you live so close to the Aliens.  Got to protect your gifts!

  • I should have read this sooner. My first year of law school I worked nights and weekends as a "Macy's Gift Wrap Associate" and I wrapped soooooo many baby and wedding presents! I actually kind of dug that job and left because I enrolled full time at school (instead of part-time) and maybe 6 months later I went back and BOOM! No gift wrap department! It's totally a dying art!

Maybe they couldn't salvage it when you left. They were in disarray over your leaving <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

  • Danie - how funny, I was a Macy's giftwrapper too! 7 years under my belt up here, till they axed it... it's amazing how you learn how to wrap ANYTHING, and make it look great :)
