I was wondering, a few of you that have been here for a while have signatures that say you were banned by the "favors mod". None of you seem like you would do anything to get yourselves banned and it seems to have happened before my time here. I was just curious about what happened? Well nosy I guess

The favours mod didn't like that people questioned her authority. Then she went nuts and banned a bunch of the ladies.

She went power hungry and banned a bunch of people who told her she was power hungry.

Ooo, that was an interesting evening. The Favors Mod created a sticky about how dumb she thought sandals as favors was. People here went over and called her out on her power trip and she didn't like that very much.

I posted a poll asking people if they thought the moderator was overstepping her bounds and should be removed, had gone a little too far but was otherwise an okay moderator, or was a good moderator.  Um, the votes were OVERWHELMINGLY that she had overstepped her bounds (like 19 horrible / 2 okay / 0 good).  And THEN I got banned!

Basically, she had stickies for each topic, so it was like she was dictating the board.  If she wanted to tell people what she thought, she could start a blog, but the whole POINT of the board is to get multiple opinions.  She argued that the same topics came up over and over so she should answer them in a sticky - we said that she could link to where the conversations had occured before so people could find them, but that dictating that sandels were a crappy favor, that any food favor was bad because people were allergic to things, and blah blah blah.  Basically, she thought she was dictator, not moderator.  And when someone disagreed with her, she told them not to speak to the moderator like that.  Anyway, she had it coming.  A bunch of us went over and put her in her place.  To be honest, I didn't say anything too harsh, but I can imagine she didn't like my attempt at a coup d'etat through the poll...  so she banned me.  Our previous screen names still exist on other parts of TK, but cannot be seen on the chats.  So if we log on, we can still see things and post things, but no body can see us.  It's rather disconcerting.

I don't get to log on as often as I'd like and I really appreciate it when the regulars are willing to clue the rest of us in about this stuff. 

Who knew someone could be so passionate and militant about wedding favors?

There are 2 other acronyms I don't get (and I don't think they were explained in the sticky) - MUD and QUAD.

AW is "attention wh@re" right?

I actually have a related question.  NWR.  Is it "not worth reading" or "not wedding related"?  I've seen people say both.

I am pretty sure NWR is "not wedding related". That is what I have always taken it to mean.

This clears up a lot of questions I had about what certain abbreviations meant. I was afraid to ask because I assumed it had been many times before. I finally figured out that PIP means Picture In Post. I HOPE that's what it means anyway If you should have a sticky about anything you may want one that has all the abbreviations that are used on this site at the top so we can find out without driving you all crazy asking. Unless there already is one on a board somewhere that I haven't seem =/
