If you're bored..

You could help me google! :D

I'm getting a tattoo!  Maybe. ;) I'm looking for a picture of a tree with bare branches that are reaching up/out (or with leaves if the branches are visible) but also has roots.  I want something simple because I don't want it too big and I'm just wanting a line drawing

Why a tree?  Or is it personal?

I don't mind telling. :)  I want a tree because I love how resilient they are.  They're made with some give so that when the strong winds come, they won't break.  Kind of like how people have to give a little so that they don't lose their minds.

And I want the branches and the roots because they look so similar.  The branches reach up to the heavens in the same way that the roots have to spread out into the earth for their sustenance.

    On my ribcage.

I've wanted one for a while, but I haven't been able to commit to a design, so I'm trying to get an idea and then sit with it for a while and make a decision in the winter.

ETA: Very small. Like the size of a biscuit.

Tattoos aren't really my style either, but that sounds nice.  This is what I found:

This one looks a bit masculine to me. Maybe just because it's all red and gross.

I think this is prettier and you could add roots to it.

This is my favorite.  I'd probably get less branches though.

Ohh I really like that third one, ana.

I found your first one myself, but I agreed that it was a little masculine.

Or you could get a saguaro cactus?

I don't have anything helpful, sorry.

Also, unrelated. but has anyone tried the bud light with lime? I hate beer but I'm trying to ease into it.

I like the third one ana posted. It's really interesting but pretty.

As far as Bud Light Lime is concerned, I like it but they just came out with a Blue Light Lime and I like it a lot better. I'm a Blue Light girl anyway but I think it's a bit smoother. If you don't like beer, either of there are good beers to start off with!

I like the one NQB posted and the "masculine" one best.

Do you have other tattoos or is this your first?  Ribs are pretty sensitive, but the discomfort is worth it IMO.

I like #3 that Ana chose.

I usually HATE drinking beer but for some odd reason, I kind of like Bud Light Lime. If we're at a bar I'll get something else like tequila and sour but if we're at someone's house I'll drink Bud Light Lime. If your wanting to try and get the taste for beer, I think it's a good start.  I started on that and now I can drink plain Bud Light without turning my nose and making an awful face- 2 years ago I would say no thanks and drink water...Now, I can drink a beer if someone offers without looking like a creep/girlie girl. Thanks Bud Light Lime!

I'm so backwards on the beer thing - I can't stand those budget beers (Bud Light, Miller, Coors) and thought I hated beer.

Then I backpacked through Europe and tried beer and wow!  That was GOOD!

Now you can't pay me to drink Bud Light (though occasionally I'll have a Lime on the beach), Miller, Coors.  They're all piss-water in my opinion.

Try Sam Adams Light - it's similar, but better quality.  I'm also a huge fan of chocolate stouts because they taste like a chocolate milkshake - yum!  Now I go for really full flavor beers - IPAs, Belgian Wheat, Czech pilsner, porter, stout.  Wow, I want a beer... and it's 8:40am... yeah, gotta wait until tonight!

I prefer the term pond scum but piss water is good too. I'll just drink whats available (aka-free), I've never really tasted anything outside the Budweiser family. There is a brewery 30 miles away that has beer tastings my dad goes to every so often. I might have to go with him.

    mmm...beer.....

Funny story - In residence we had a deal with Labbatt brewery that allowed us 125 doz free beer a semester (that's 250 doz a year) for our house.  There was only 100 people in the house so we basically had free beer (and they gave us merch) ALL the time.  it was wicked.

and Bud Light Lime is good.

BF always buys "hipster" beer.  Like local brew stuff.  His favorite is Red Stripe and Fat Tire.  I think Fat Tire tastes like bread and I hate it.  I'll drink a red stripe after like three or four smirnoffs, and I don't really get sick.  I won't start with beer though.

I tried Bud Light from the tap once (it was free) and it didn't make me gag, but I wouldn't pay for it.  But I think I'll try the one with lime.

And dwest, this is gonna be my first one, and I know the ribs are sensitive and tattoos hurt (BF has two, but they're on his arms and he has a good bit of padding from the bone there) but its probably going to be the only one I will get, and if I'm going to go through the pain anyway, I at least want it somewhere that I want it.  I won't settle for placement any more than I would settle for a design.

Does the tree hold some significance to you?

I do really like bud light lime, but I really like Leinie's Summer Shandy a whole lot better. Beer mixed with lemonade. Yum!

FFIL's band is sponsered by Red Stripe. Why a local wedding/festival band has sponsers, I'll never know. Oddly enough, Red Stripe in Jamaica taste different than Red Stripe in the US. It's something with alcohol regulations here in the US?? IDK!

    That is all.

Just wanted to make sure you knew some areas of the body are just whatever others are like holy sh*t, white knuckles, holding your breath etc.  I have most of my back tattooed with a large peice and both sides of my ribs done.  The ribs effing hurt, but to me it was worth it.

Also other piece of advice is to get it higher on the ribs (maybe starting just below nipple line) the further from the stomach the better because when you have kids you don't want it to stretch too much and get distorted.  I had one side of my ribs done before I was pregnant with my son and the bottom of it stretched a little but went right back to normal.

Yeah, I'm planning on getting it high on the ribs. That's a big thing too, I don't want anything to stretch unnecessarily.
