FI and I are having an outdoor wedding in October. Our officiant recommended that I embroider weights into my veil so it doesn't blow around during the ceremony. Has anyone done this before?
It's definitely worth looking into. Whenever I see a brides veil whipping into her face during the ceremony I always feel bad for her since it must be pretty annoying.
I agree that you should ask your seamstress about this idea. It might be worth it so that the pictures don't turn out funny with your veil all over the place.
It's a great idea! My cousin got married this October outdoors as well and her veil was out of control! She ended up taking it off half way through pictures before the ceremony. Although the winds were gusting to like, 40-50mph, so not sure weights would have helped. I'd definitely mention it to your seamstress!
I'm wish the weights were smaller (I would rather have more tiny weights than six 3/4" weights) and I'm worried that they will fall off since they only attach by magnets rather than sewing/glewing. But I guess it is better than nothing.
You might be able to make your own custom ones if you purchase small magnet snaps and hot glue a beautiful embellishment to it. This way, it can blend with your style and also be as large or as small as you want it. I'm not as crafty as I used to be but I think I could accomplish this and if I can, anyone can!
Re: Adding weights to veil?

Well. I think sewing some pearls on the edge of wedding veil. So the weight would be increased.
