I got nothin'...

I have no AW's but I'm feeling chatty today. Tongue out How's everyone's week going? I'm sad I missed the GTG the other night...sounds like you ladies had fun!

So I'm not an Apple user and despite disliking how Apple has managed to convince people to spend an absurd amount of money on their products, I'm sad about Steve Jobs. Whether you like Apple or not, the bottom line is that had he not co-founded the company, our lives would be extremely different today. He took something that we never thought we needed and managed to make it feel like something of a necessity, and the way we socialize and receive information is completely different now thanks to him. I think his outlook, bravery, and humbleness are inspiring.

I didn't even know who he was until I asked in guild last night when they were talking about it. I'm a die-hard Blackberry lover and will be till they don't exist anymore.

I don't have anything good really except that we got a new heroic boss down to 5% last night in our 10man group. And unless, you, your DH/FI plays MMORPG's, I'm probably speaking greek to you. :)

After reading a bio about Steve, I lost a bit of respect for him. And I don't really care for the company because, while they claim to bring computers to the masses, in reality the masses cannot afford their computers for the most part. Sorry, my husband thinks he's a saint but I disagree. I'm sad for him though that his treatments didn't help him beat his illness though.

Responded to the thread and then my internet timed out... awesome.

    Again:

I guess my AW is that I'm going to see Taylor Swift Saturday and going to the Texas State Fair Sunday. I know I should be doing hw but I'd rather spend the weekend having fun with Jeremy before everything gets even crazier than it already is with the holidays/midterms/family obligations we have coming up.

RE Steve Jobs: I truly think his intention was to bring computers to the masses- he created the first PC. However, Apple's pricing has gotten so outrageous that like Julie said, the masses can't afford them. Steve Jobs was an extremely innovative person and it will be very interesting to see where Apple goes from here without his ideas.

The masses can't afford them, but I have a computer that has lasted me four years without repair/upgrade/etc (at four years going, have never replaced my laptop battery and it still has a good two hours!). When I had a PC, I had to get a new one nearly every year (and the battery would die long before then). I know that still isn't probably true today since technology has progressed so much, but I sure do love my apple products and the fact that they are so simple to use and last for such a long time Potato/Pot-ah-to. I am wondering how Apple will progress now considering that so many people looked to Steve Jobs for innovation. The current CEO is a bit of a bottom-line business man.

How long is the state fair going to be going for? Sadly, I've never been but grew up in Texarkana area where we weren't going to drive 2 1/2 hrs for it. However, I'll be in town next weekend for WR stuff.

I have two tickets to the fair and I thin we are going Sunday.

I had what FI refers to as a "Wonder Wendi moment" earlier. I had to tell a client to pay up or else. Frustrating!

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

The fair opened Sept. 30 and runs through Oct. 23. More info (times, ticket prices, etc) can be found here: ----> http://www.bigtex.com/sft/. I absolutely love the fair, I'm hoping we don't get rained out!
