PSA: Ralph & Kacoo's Restaurant in Allen abruptly closed down

Hi Knotties,

Our rehearsal dinner was scheduled for 11/26/10 at Ralph & Kacoo's Restaurant in Allen.   During the past few days, I had been having problems getting in touch with my event planner at the restaurant to confirm all the final details.  No email or telephone emails, nada . . . So, I got worried and decided to stop by the restaurant last night.  To my dismay when I got there, the restaurant was closed with a notice on the door asking customers & clients to contact their corporate headquarters in Louisiana.  I met a few other people at the restaurant who also had scheduled events and had not gotten any kind of notice from Ralph & Kacoo's staff that they were shutting down operations.

Right now, I am in the process of trying to regroup and determine where to reschedule a rehearsal dinner in the Allen/Plano area on such short notice.  If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

TIA

I saw on their sign this weekend that they were re-modeling.  I had no idea they were closing!!

We had our rehearsal at Texas Land and Cattle in Plano and they were seriously amazing.... went way above and beyond what we expected.  The main waiter we had was awesome, and was very engaging with the group.  Everyone loved him.

The room is fairly basic but has a very nice austin stone fireplace in it.   They will do tablecloths and menu's for you and you can come decorate as you like.

ETA:  There was also no room charge and we were able to pick 5 entrees from the menu and they were charged at menu cost (rather than choosing one of their packages).

There's a Blue Mesa at 121 and the Tollway that might be able to help you out.  Stephie raves about them and I think it was like $13 a person and it was a fajita buffet (their fajitas are awesome!).

You could try Olive Garden, Cheesecake Factory, Brio, Nate's Seafood(never been there), Chuys.....I live here in allen and am trying to think of all the restaurants that might accomodate you.  Ricks steak and chophouse on the square in McKinney does a lot of rehearsals.  Although, I don't know what your budget is.  I hope you find something.  Best of luck!

Sorry to hear about your last minute situation. I didn't know they had a location here. On a good not you may find something better. I am from New Orleans was not impressed with their food. I ate at the New Orleans location a few months  ago and it was not that great.
    Good Luck with your search!
