Snarky Brides

Whatcha doin'?

For the first time in a jillion years I actually have time to knot.  What are all you ladies (and Vegas) doing?  Who works at 11:00 on a Thursday?

  • I'm at work, thinking about what kind of sub I want for lunch...decisions, decisions!
  • Chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, and honey mustard.  DECIDED.  You're welcome.

  • No work for me today (or rarely ever Undecided)

I'm putting off the cleaning I should be doing before FMIL gets here. I did put a load of laundry in, though. That counts for someting, right?

  • Not working, not so much.

Deciding on where to go out for lunch.  My soon-to-be-new coworkers are taking me out today :)
  • I'm researching a kolache festival.  There is a city in Texas that has the same name as my maiden name, and their annual kolache festival is on the weekend of my birthday.  It just seemed like a strange coincidence.

  • I'm working and debating calling a doctor. I'm torn between waiting for my test results and going for more because I think this is unrelated. I can't shake this exhaustion and I am having stomach issues lately. Stress? Did I eat something bad and it's still affecting me? Am I anemic like the first doc suspects? Do I just need to sleep more and drink more water? I don't know but I want a nap.

Other than that, it's my Friday! Yay! One more day then I get to go home and see my family then send off little brother to college.
  • It's my go to sandwich.  Oh, lettuce.  Lettuce, too.

  • Working; trying to prepare for a meeting I have in 2 hours.

I can't stop laughing at this photo a friend sent of her son:

    SHARK WEEK!

Dad's an artist and he made the shark's head out of papier mache'
  • OWN - That picture is hilarious!

  • lunch break... Then work, then more work tonight.  But my mom comes tomorrow for the weekend, and my bridal shower is Sunday.  I am excited..  No waiting tables until at least Monday.
Hopefully my body will have returned to it's normal state by then.  60 miles in 3 days threw all my muscles and tendons out of whack.. and I think my feet are retaining water, or something cause they seem puffy...
  • That's awesome, OWN. I wish I had something like that to give H. He has his own love affair with sharks going on right now.
  • Debating my lunch order... always an excellent part of my day :)

Also, we just all got asked to take an employee satisfaction survey at work today. I am dying to see the results and hear the piddly complaints people have. This is going to be hilarious and pretty much the most conterproductive thing ever.
  • I want a paper mache shark head.  Jealous.

Kolaches?  It's a Czech pastry that is usually filled with fruit, although some come in a rolled version with meats and/or cheeses.  Kolaches are fairly common in central Texas since there are a lot of Czech descendents there.

  • Hello pretty lady. Yes I am at work, half the office is gone so it's boring.

I'm hungrey and I dont eat for another 45 minutes. I have to finish cleaning tonight for our guests that are coming this weekend. I'm almost done.

Seshat-I'm sorry you're still not feeling right. I agree the stomach thing is probaly stress related.

  • That's good to hear, KD. It's nice to be told it's no big deal. If I tell H, he gets all "go to the doc! make sure you're not dying! Call right now!" and freaks me the hell out. I think I'll give it a week and see what happens.

  • Love the shark head!

I am working and praying the next 7 hrs don't creep by. Working 10 hour days blows. I'm in a bad mood because my best friend found out today that their 3rd IUI treatment didn't work. It breaks my heart because they've been trying to have a baby for 2 years and it's been so hard on her to keep getting bad news. Cry

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

I know. I googled a few topics on it to better understand my friend's situation and it was just overwhelming. So many things can go wrong.

  • Lovin' the shark head too!

I just got in from sweating my @ss off in a soybean field. I have left over steak for lunch and I'm spending the rest of my afternoon in the airconditioned, low humidity genetics lab!!!

Led, I definitely do laundry as a way of putting of cleaning and other less fun stuff too.

  • Working the first of two jobs today, and I'm both pleased/pissed that it isn't busy. (pleased because I get to knot, pissed because it's crawling by)

Sitting here thinking about reheating my leftover steak for lunch and willing it to be a good day.
Which did you like better? "Jedi" or "The Empire Strikes Back"? "Empire". Blasphemy. "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.
  • Kolaches are so freaking good :) My mom stopped making them went she stopped eating gluten though, and has yet to find a decent gluten free pastry recipe.

I was researching various fertility tests the other day and got so overwhelmed and scared that I started crying and Scott took the computer away :(  It also makes me really sad now when people talk so negatively about IVF, or say things like "people who get pregnant naturally just shouldn't have kids". I know people don't mean it like that, but it still makes me cry inside.
