Surprise Groom's Cake

I've decided that I want to surprise my FI and have a really awesome groom's cake for him at our rehearsal dinner.  I've already checked with the restuarant we're going to and they are totally cool with us bringing one in.  They even said they would make space in their fridge for us until we're ready to eat it.  Awesome!! The problem I'm having is trying to find some kind of design that I want. He's a really big patriots and yankees fan so because it will be in Sept (beginning of football season) I was going to get a life-size patriots helmet done and then put his last name on it instead of the player's.  But then I started thinking that maybe I should try to incorporate yankees into it too.  I just don't know how I would do a yankees and patriots one at the same time.  Maybe something tiered instead of 3D? Does anyone have any suggestions or pictures I could bring to my baker?
TIA!!

How about having a baseball and a football (with the teams logo on them) on a a base cake to look like grass and have fake autrographs on the balls.

Or if you want to be more silly you can see if the bakers can do a half and half helmet cake. on half will look like a football helmet and the other half can look like a baseball helmet lol..
    Pumpernickel and olive juice
