Walking & rest days.

I have had a hard time trying to excercise so I started taking my dog for a 2 mile walk. We both could use the excercise. However, if I take her for a 2 mile walk everyday, do I still need to take at least 1 rest day?

  • From everything I've read and heard, you only need rest days if your workouts are strenuous. If the 2 mile walk is at a somewhat leisurely pace, you are fine to do that every day. (Just think of all of the women in Africa and other places in the world that walk for miles to get water and firewood every day. They don't get to take a rest day.)

  • I would say no, you don't need a rest day. If your body gets super achy (like injury achy), though, take a day off.

    If you feel tired, take a rest day. I feel exhausted after 5 or six days of working out so I HAVE to take a rest day. Just listen to your body but know you can always push yourself a wee bit further (as long as youre not in pain).
