Well the only ones I've been to have involved getting a party bus and going from one bar to the next. Kinda boring to me. A bunch of us are going to my dad's, who has a huge movie theater in his house, along with a pool table, darts, and a full bar and mini-kitchen. We're going to do snack foods and drinks and scary movies. I can't wait!!!

I agree that you have to know the bride's personality and pick a party that matches that.

My future sister in law had a bachelorette party thrown for her that was all penis lollipops, crowns, sashes, suck for a buck, etc...  The MOH, who put it all together, loved every second of it.  The bride wanted to go home immediately.

My sister told me that if any penises made an appearance at her party, she'd leave.  So, we went to a spa and got manicures/pedicures/facials (I found a package deal) and then went out to dinner at a yummy restaurant.

If your friend loves waterparks or rollercoasters, go to her favorite amusement park or one she hasn't been to but would love.  If she likes road trips, hop in the car and drive somewhere fun for the night.  If she likes bars and dancing, then do the traditional b-party.  If she's more lowkey, go for mani/pedis and a good meal.

But, please don't force her to go out to bars in a party bus, drink, and get guys to sign her shirt if that isn't her thing because you think that is what she *should* have.

B-parties don't have to be raunchy and/or bar crawls.  The best b-party is the one that considers the bride and what she'd enjoy and where her comfort level is.

"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

Well for my bach party I am just having 10 of my closest friends over at my sisters house who is my MOH.

We are gonna head out to dinner at Apple Bee's then head back to her house for games and some shots.. probably gossip and watch movies. I think we are just gonna have a chill night, nothing too planned out.

I feel if you have high expectations you might get let down easier. Going with the flow would be much better and thats what I let my MOH know..

My favorite b-parties have honestly been the ones that are co-ed. It's so much more fun with the guys there, they're hilarious and make it much more rowdy. One of my BM's when she got married a few years ago had a co-ed bach party with her DH and they had a party bus that took us down to NYC for the night and we had a blast. Then for my b-party in June, we had a party bus as well that took us up to Mohegan Sun Casino and the bus part was co-ed and was a blast. Once we got to the casino, I split off with the girls and we went to the club. But everyone raved about how much fun the party bus part of the trip was.

My ladies took me to a drag queen show, I was pulled up on stage 4 times throughout the night, it was THE most fun i've had in a long time. I also thought that the penis straws and stuff were funny. Depends on what ya like.

It definitely depends on what the bride enjoys doing.  I've done the party bus thing, road trip thing and just party at someone's house with food/drinks/stripper/hanging out.  All of which were a lot of fun but I love the spa and dinner afterwards idea though too!  Just keep in mind what the bride would want.

My favorite was an awesome weekend at a beach house, to which we brought our own food to cook & liquor to drink & cards to play, and had a FANTASTIC time.

My FH and I did a joint party, which started with a photo scavenger hunt, with team bride against team groom.  Each team had a list of pictures to get (teammate kissing a farm animal, getting underwear from a stranger, team on a fire truck) with varying points for each task depending how difficult it was.  We all had a blast, and we have fantastic pictures as well.  The best part? The winning team got to choose a song for the losing team to dance to at the wedding reception.  Naturally, team bride won, and we're REALLY looking forward to watching all the guys dancing to the song of our choice at the reception!

I LOVE this idea! The last bachelorette party I went to went to was just the men and women taking a trip to Dave and Busters (kind of a grown up restaraunt and arcade) and we had a blast. My MOH suggested dressing up and going to see a live Rocky Horror Picture Show as well. It really just depends on what you want to do and what you think would be a good time.

For my b-party, we went to a piano bar and watched dueling pianos.  It was the most fun I've had in a long time and everyone had a blast!  Another friend getting married soon is having us go to a wine tasting and then to see a comedian.  I love both because they are so different than what we do most weekends.

Definitely depends on the brides style. I'm not the kind of person to go to a bar - I would much prefer to drink in the safety and comfort of my own home (or my friends home lol). My ideal bparty would be getting together to get mani-pedis for the wedding, going out to eat somewhere niceish,  then heading to the house for jello shots, mai tais, plastic penises and dancing around like a bunch of idiots.

I love starrynight's idea, the photo hunt! If you're good at planning that kind of stuff it could be a great time, you get your time alone with your girls but get to meet up with the guys after! Nice!

I've been to three, and I like the lower-key ones. I think the best one was dinner at a nice place, then back to my place for a drink before heading to a line-dancing bar (we all liked country music and line dancing).

I want to do a co-ed party at a karaoke bar. I LOVE karaoke, especially after a long island or two :D Either that or Dave & Busters (an arcade/bar for adults) I think we're gonna do dinner separate then meet up later, so we get that time in with the girls/guys then spend the night hanging together.

    Hello,

Like Tanner - I went to a drag show!  It was so much fun - so many of my friends went because they had never been before.  It was a blast - and not because I had fun,  but because my friends did as well.  We went to the early show and headed to dinner. Then,  we hung out in the hotel,  and went to bed.  It was a perfect mix of crazy fun and low-key.

I had no penis straws,  no crown,  but that's just me.

Just really think about the bride's personality - try to think out of the box, STRIP CLUBS ARE DISGUSTING one of the worst ones ever included a strip club - do you have any karoke bars around you? That was the only fun part of the night at the one I went to. Maybe do something more layed back like a spa day and then have a fun dinner with the girls or go to an amusement park or something! just make it memorable! and remember it doesn't matter how much money you spend just think about the bride

The best bachelorette party is the one that is what the bride wants.
I've been to one where we basically had a slumber party.  Made supper, watched movies, gossiped, ate popcorn, stayed up all night drinking wine and talking about life.

Another where the bride a list of things she had to "accomplish" while we were out at the bar. (Sign a guys chest in lipstick, chew a button off of a man's shirt, convince a man to give her a piggy back ride, etc) [I would have hated this as I am very shy-but she loved it.]  Then we met up with the guys and had an "after party" at someone's house until about 5 am.

Anther where we simply went out to eat and then hung out at the bar drinking and takling.

The last one I went to we went out to a nice dinner and then took pole dance lessons.

If you are 'hosting' a party for a friend the number one thing is to ASK her what she wants.  Maybe have some ideas ready and give her a choice.  "Would you rather 1, 2, 3 or 4" and then go from there.  It needs to fit HER personality.

My sister's bachelorette party was a coed one.  We all went to a comedy club and then to Benihana's afterwards.

My best friend's bachelorette was a bit more involved.  We went to Bucca di Beppo's for dinner, then to the Hustler Club (female strippers) which was actually a lot of fun until the skeevy guy started hitting on my BFF.  After that we went to a club and danced to 80s music and then back to another friend's house where we skinny dipped in the hot tub overlooking the bay.

For mine we're going to Teatro Zinzanni and maybe out to a couple bars afterwards.

It really all depends on the bride's personality.  Each bachelorette party fit each of us brides really well.

The Best Bachelorette Party I have even been to was a bit of all of the above. We rented a house in Mont Tremblant  for the weekend. First night we stayed in, drank wine, gossiped and watched movies. During the day on the saturday we went to a nordic spa and then did some light shopping in the village. That night we went out and did the Bar thing. The last morning we made a huge brunch then  headed home.

Mine is DEFINITELY going to have a no penis props rule.  and we are starting to talk about a bachelorette/ Bachelor party meet-up spot so we can  have the single gender time and the co-ed time too.
