STD's question

We are having a June wedding and have a lot of out of towners coming--thoughts on whether mid November/early December would be too early for the STD's?
I would like to get them out before people start planning other vacays for the summer, etc. TIA!

i don't think that's too early at all! i've read that STDs should go out 6-8 months in advance, more towards 8 mo. if you have lots of OOT guests.

our wedding is in may and we sent our STDs about 3 weeks ago because 90% of our guests are from OOT.

Techinally it says 6-8 months out, but I'm one of those that thinks the sooner the better. Then again, there will be those that 100% disagree with me on that. But I wouldn't think that November/December would be too early.

I'm sending mine out in Jan/Feb for my Aug wedding. Most of his family is OOT and lots of my friends are OOT too.

The standard is to send them about 6 months in advance, so that will be just fine.

A lot of the girls on June 2011 have already sent them or about to. Sending them in December is a bad idea only because it might get lost in all the other holiday mailings. I would shot for Nov.

I wouldn't do STD's any later than 6 months. Anything after that seems kind of pointless IMO, because then you'll be sending out invites a few months after that.

I think November/December would be fine as well.

Definitely get them out by then! There were 3 other couples from my hometown that got married on the same day so it was good for people to put my wedding on the calendar first by receiving their STD early.

I don't think that's too early at all! Especially if you have a lot of people coming from out of town. I sent out my STDs for a July 2011 wedding in August. We are getting married in Las Vegas as "destination" type wedding so ALL of our guests will be travelling.
