Renewing Vows (New knotie) & got questions :)

Hello ladies Smile a lil background info I am renewing my vows and very excicted my dh and I got married  in Dec 2000 so it will be 10 yrs this dec and since then have had 3 beautiful boys who weil also be part of our special day, now we have decided to renew our  vows and have the big wedding we never had yrs back .At the time i was only 17 and he was 20 so we just went down to city hall with just close family and a few close friends . Now we want to share with all of our family and friends the big day is still a few years away wanted to save up a bit more since we are paying for it ourselves,Im a planning freak lol! so I have done and got alot of things already lol! would love some feedback from brides who are also renewing thier vows or already have.

I have a few question aswell when we got married we never had a bachlor/bachlorette, or a bridal shower, no registery either
so.... my MOH is insisting i have one as I never did of course it would be a bit different as Im married but we want to have fun non the less my BMs are the same as well so what do you think  should  I or not?

& since we've been living together for a long time we have everything for our home if you are registering what are you registering for?

& finally we never had a honeymoon so really want to figure out a way to let our family & friends know thats what we really need lol! well with out being rude of course?

Thanks any feedback will be greatly appreciated Laughing

A vow renewal and "honeymoon" is fine but I think the other parties and registering are not unfortunately. But of course it depends on your guests and if they will embrace this type of thing. If they are fine with it, then so be it, but you can't have a bachelorette party, because you aren't a bachelorette. Maybe just have a bridesmaid dinner.

You can certainly have a ladies night out.

I don't think there is a way to politely tell the guests at your vow renewal to pay for your vacation.

My MOH also insited I have a shower and I kinda regret I had one. It was very small mostly family and close friends. We invited aobut 50 people, 13 came.
This will be my second marriage, got married in the courthouse the first time around. Had no parties and such, the first time around, so it wasn't like people were buying me a gift for the second time. AND I have been divorced for 12 years.
We had a great time and I appreciated the people that came and brought much needed gifts, like towels and sheets.

If I had to do it over I wouldn't have one, but that's just me.

    You could:

    Have a lingere party

    Spa day with your BP

Overnight trip to a casino/hotel - girls weekend of fun!

I would suggest you register at one or two places for things you would like to replace or if there is something special you have always wanted  - that way, if/when someone asks what you would like as a gift, you can say we are registered at A and B.  It is impolite to include registry info. in an invite, but I have heard of brides posting that information on their wedding websites.

There is no polite way to "ask" for a honeymoon.  I would suggest you save up for a dream vacation, and in the meantime, book an overnight or a weekend at a romantic B n B for a mini honeymoon for your wedding.

    Congrats and hope that helps!

If you are a new knottie, let me offer some advice from someone who's been around a long time.  People do NOT like to read text speak.  Don't use U or UR, write the words out.  Your readers will appreciate it, and will pay attention to your content instead of your composition.  ~Donna

Fairytale, I think it's wonderful that you are renewing your vows at 10 years!  How exciting for you.  It sounds like you are doing it your way which we encourage here.

I have to agree with Abbey, register so that people should they want, they can get you things you need or need to upgrade but don't register for a honeymoon since you have already been married to your DH for 10 years.

If you and your ladies want to do something fun together that's great too!  A girls night out or a girls weekend or even a luncheon but maybe not a shower.

My husband and I was married June 25, 2010 and we are renewing our vows with a wedding ceremony on our 1st anniversy. We were married at the courthouse and did not have the wedding we wanted because my mother was in the hospital and we knew she would not make it. She really wanted us to be married before she passed away and we did not have the time or money to plan a wedding then. You asked some of the same questions I had as well. They may need to create a board just for vow renewal because I know a lot of people does this for different reasons and would be great to have a board where everyone has the same goal.
