Bridesmaid Hair & Makeup or Just Bride

Hi Ladies,

I am undecided as to whether I should have my bridesmaids hair and makeup done (I would be paying for it) or if I should save the much needed money and have them do their own hair and makeup.

Can you please share your experiences and/or ideas as to what you did or plan to do in regard to having your bridesmaids hair and makeup done, or just having yours done and allowing for them to do it on their own?

If you can't afford it, don't do it.  I'm doing my own and so is everyone else.  We'll all be helping each other.

If you're not going to require it you don't have to pay for it.  Give the girls the option of having it done or DIY.

I don't have it in my budget, so I am only paying for my own. Two of my girls are doing their own hair and makeup, and the other two opted to pay my girl to get theirs done. I left it all up to them.

I'm paying for my WP because it's small and the two younger girls are free. It's me, the moms and MOH so the JBM and FG are included for free in the package.

Since the moms are pitching in to pay their portion and I'm covering myself and the MOH the split came to less than $50 per person including my trial.

Im getting my hair done, but doing my own makeup. I don't trust anyone else to do it lol. My girls can do whatever. They can get wear their hair however they want.

I paid for my girls since it was my sister and daughter.  But it was something I budgeted for from day one.  My sister chose to just have her hair done so my MUA did my mom's makeup. 

If you don't have the budget for it, just give them the option to pay for it or do their own, whatever they are comfortable with.  That's totally fine.

This. If you do not require it, you are not responsible to pay. I am getting mine done, and the majority of my bridesmaids have expressed interest in getting theirs done as well, with the understanding that it is their choice, and their dime. If they would rather not spend the money, I'm ok with them doing it themselves. =)

If you are not requiring them to get their hair and makeup done, then you don't need to pay for it.  You can give them the option of doing it themselves or they can pay to get it done.

If you can afford to do it, I would.

I booked appts for me & my girls (in addition to my mom and FMIL) - it will be nice to have them all there with me that morning anyway. Plus they don't have to worry about doing their own hair/makeup.
