Groom's Wedding Gift

Hi ladies!

What are you ladies getting for your future hubby's as the wedding gift, if any? I'm just curious and need some ideas.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, so I'm glad you are bringing this up!

I mentioned this in another post, but our Reverend is having us write letters for our last session with her--about what the other means to us and what marrying the other means etc. I feel like no matter what I'll do a shorter version of that for the card I'll give him the day of.

I'm really stumped in terms of what kind of gift. He isn't a guy who needs a lot of 'stuff' (whereas I'm the opposite and love jewelry and clothes and shoes and bags, even though I don't buy that much, I online-window-shop a TON!). I was thinking of getting him something for our honeymoon--like an excursion or a romantic picnic or dinner or something. They have scuba diving/snorkeling, cave tubing and a variety of other things (we are headed to Belize) so any of those might be good.

Looking forward to hearing what you all are getting you hubbys-to-be!!

Well when my FI moved to the US, he had to leave a lot behind, including his watches. He didn't have many, but now he has none. So, I want to get him a really nice watch. I have a $50 gift certificate to Lord & Taylor, as well as a 15% off coupon, so I'm going to get him a watch there. I actually have to do that this weekend before it expires!!

Yes! My guy is the same in terms of not needing alot of stuff. I, on the other hand, love jewelry and all the other things you named. I thought about getting him a really nice watch but he doesn't wear the one he has now.

Your idea of a honeymoon gift would be great if our honeymoon wasn't a surprise to me! haha! I might get a hint on Valentine's Day but we'll see!

I will definitely be writing a letter though and I should probably get started on that!

I'm getting mine a boudoir album as a wedding gift.  He has everything he could
possibly want but i i know he would love this.  Also since it is our
anniversary as well I got him tickets to see his favorite band here in Boston.  Those
I gave to him early since he was having a crumby few days and I wanted to perk
him up.

I'm planning on getting mine tickets to the Texas vs Oklahoma football game in the fall. It's a big game and he's never been and really wants to go. Tickets won't be out yet so I'm going to create a mock up of them til we can get the real ones. I'm also doing a Boudoir album. I really want to get him a watch with something engraved but he's so picky I need him to pick it out so that's up in the air for now. ETA: I also thought of a nice bottle of crown for all the guys pre wedding???

I have had different ideas.  

1. We live in Boston and are Red Sox fans and this is the 100th season at Fenway so they have a thing where you can buy a bring and engrave it and it is being built in a wall at on of the gates and then you get a replica one in a case.  But I was going to get it and then FI said he was thinking of getting it for me and now my BIL is telling us not to get it (assuming he is buying it)

Thanks! He is pretty easy because he's not the type of guy to collect a lot of gadgets or electronics. So anything I think of he probably doesn't have. Not because he doesn't want them, but because he just doesn't feel the need for it. I'm the same way.<div>
</div><div>I also concur with the other ladies that I'm HUGE on jewelry, shoes & handbags. My FI knows that's the way too my heart. I already told him he needs to buy me jewelry...hehe. I camouflaged the demand by saying that my dad bought my mom jewelry for their wedding (he really did) and he needs to keep up the tradition. </div>

Mine wants a new watch but hasn't yet seen anything he liked well enough to ask me to buy it for him.  He did pick out a pair of cuff links that I got for him to wear with his tuxedo on the wedding day and for other special occasions in the future.  For his birthday or Christmas I might have to get him some new shirts that will accommodate the cuff links :-)  (And then he will have to get rid of some of his old shirts, haha).

@cdbishop I LOVE the red sox brick idea... but I just looked and it says the promotion has ended!?! Now I'm bummed because that was SUCH a good idea!!

I'm doing a boudoir session this saturday and will leave the album with a love letter for him to find the morning of the wedding. I'm also in talks with this guy who has batmobile replicas (they are driveable) and as long as he comes thru, I will have the 1989 Batmobile making an appearance for photo ops. The owner told me he would also take him for a quick ride in it. I have a feeling he may be a *little* more excited about the Batmobile than the photo album. lol

The honeymoon's our gift to each other. We're going on a very expensive safari, and we'd rather do that than get each other a gift.

I was thinking of giving him a gift for every groomsmen he has (6) and a card with each. 

1) Socks with GROOM on the side
2) Cufflinks
3) Maybe cologne
4) 5) -- still pending but really inexpensive --- I like the crowne or black idea for all the guys.
6) A chartered fishing trip (he has been DYING for that!)

We're not giving each other gifts for the wedding.  But we're taking 2 vacations within the next year (Crater Lake around labor day, and Eastern Carribean cruise next winter), as opposed to one, so I suppose that's our gift?  IDK.  But no little trinkets for us.

So many awesome ideas ladies! I have a feeling I'm getting jewelry and would really like to get him something sweet but I just don't know what I'm going to do! A boudoir session would be great... IF I HAD THE CONFIDENCE TO DO IT! This would be great because it's not something he could ever get for himself. Now, if he wants/needs something, he just buys it which makes it hard when it's time for Bday or Christmas gifts.

I agree with you cfd - I wish i had the confidence too!!!!
I am soo glad this thread was brought up because this has been on my mind for some time.  But my FH is unique and doesnt like jewlery (watches) or anything like that.  I am really stumped as to what I can get him.  I wanted something sweet and symbollic but I can't seem to come up with anything that he needs/wants/would use.

I think I'm going to get my FH a pair of Oakleys. He loves Oakleys. They're pretty expensive so that might be his only gift. We'll probably just buy something really nice on our honeymoon like something we can have in the apartment.

kmac821 We're going to Belize also. FI goes caving and has for several years, so we will be doing a lot of things like that. 

We haven't talked about gifts so I don't know that it's something we will be doing.

We are going to Costa Rica for our Honeymoon for 10 days and one of the days we plan to do a Charter Fishing trip and that will be our gift to each other.
