Recs: Photographer & Cake?

Can you tell what's important to us? Sugar and pictures!
We want to book a photographer and cake first hoping the rest will fall into its place later...

We're picky about cakes so we're hoping to start tasting soon, what are some of your favorites to start trying?

What about a photographer? I'm willing to shell out some $$ on this one.

La Luz Photography takes gorgeous photos!   I wanted them but they were out of our budget. Also Alex Photography is amazing too

i love kaylee because while photography is her art, she also knows that the style that people like differ, so she is able to adjust to the style that you like best. does that make sense?

i also loved kristen honeycutt, but i felt that i got a lot more for my money with kaylee (2 photogs, 8 hrs, photobooth, e-session, etc).

I'm using Kristen Honeycutt, and I can't recommend her enough!!!  Neither FI nor I are very comfortable in front of the camera, but we have gotten so many compliments on our e-pics.  Plus, Kristen is just really easy to work with.  Check out her beautiful work:

For cake, you MUST go see Kelli Morse, of Kelli's Creations!  Her cake is amazing, and she is a sweetheart.  Plus, she gives a 10% Knottie discount, and will knock off your delivery fee if you recommend people (don't worry, mine's all paid for, that's not the only reason I recommend her).  She can make just about any flavor you can dream up (like the Oreo mousse Sarack dreamed up & I stole from her, lol).

We used Jenny GG and I can't wait to see our pics (due up in a couple weeks)!!  www.jennygg.com. Loved our e-pics, loved my b-pics (as did DH), and am super excited for the wedding pics! 

As for cake, I also used Kelli and am SO doggone sad that I didn't get to eat more cake!!!  I only had the little bit we had for our cake cutting and another slice for home (both the same flavor).  Her cakes are delicious!

We used Bakery Nouveau for our cake and it was soooo good (as is everything they make)!   They will only do two weddings per week, so they book fast.   Heather was wonderful to work with (she is super sweet) and they even made a sample cake for us to approve our flavors & designs prior to the wedding (at no additional charge).  Sorry no photog rec.

As for cake, we went to our family's favorite, Madison Park Bakery.  We were so happy with the taste and how it looked.

Photo - I LOVE Azzura Photography...we first saw their images at the Edgewater - they are a preferred vendor.  I also really like the style of Kylie Danielson.  She has a LOT more pictures on her facebook page.
Cake - JW Desserts.  He is really good at sculpting and odd cakes so if you are looking for something non-traditional or a groom's cake, he is great for that!  He's been on TLC's Ultimate Cake Off and Food Network Challenge.  He won the tasting portion on the Ultimate Cake Off.  We tried that flavor and it was heavenly.  His pricing is also really reasonable (He was cheaper than Kelli).

She is from Vancouver BC, living in Chicago right now BUT travels to the West Coast for FREE to shoot weddings...no extra fees on top of the package price. 

She made my day stress free, she was helpful and fun to have around, didn't notice her AT ALL during the ceremony and our photos are to die for!
