Evening ladies! I think I have fallen in love with a centerpiece idea that I can DIY and was just about to look up ideas on the DIY board.  I am so glad our AA board is supportive.  Just for kicks I looked at a few posts on the DIY board and I just kept reading "it's not etiquette this, it's not etiquette that".  OMG!! I just wanted to say I will remember not to bump my head and stay put on this board.  At least here ideas aren't criticized like that.

I so agree.  The other boards are like "etiquette this and etiquette that".  It gets on my nerves sometimes.  I just read on one of the other boards how they were coming down on someone about a pre-dinner party or something.  It just got on my nerves.  So happy to be here!!!

Girl I said the same thing a few weeks ago.  some of the other boards can be down right nasty and bitchy..... I thought we were here to support each other not tear each other apart.  Funny how some women can hide behind their key boards, but would never be so blunt in person for fear of a good ole fashion whoop ass session.  OK... let me get off the soap box.  

I love it here...  There's no place like home....

ITA with everything above. The other boards are so hateful, it's frightening! To be honest, I think many of those brides are just low-rent and have no business giving advice about etiquette. The first rule of etiquette is making others feel at ease. Cursing and name calling because someone decides to utilize a honeymoon registry, not invite their step-mother's third cousins or spend more than $5000 on their wedding is not good manners.

I seriously think many of the hateful replies are sparked by sheer jealously. One the honeymoon board, posters are always telling others that they didn't take a honeymoon and how unnecessary it is to spend all of that money, blah, blah, yada, yada, instead of offering meaningful advice.

I was just lurking on the other boards and they were just plain rude. The bride that wrote the post tried to defend herself and they just proceeded to tear her to shreds. Just horrible. I love AAW!!!

Yeah I've been lurking on others too and witnessed that on several different posts. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif" border="0" alt="Surprised" title="Surprised" /> One bride was asking an etiquette question and they just ripped her a new one because of an extra detail she included in the story when she was only trying to give background.  I can't tell ya'll how much I feel welcomed here. It's like getting advice from close family members. Absolutely love this board!!!

I have been the recipient of some of the etiquette opinions of other boards and it is a mess.  I am so happy to find a board where women are supportive and do not judge people because they don't follow all the wedding etiquette. Thank you ladies and yes there is no place like home and this is my new home.

Yes!  I was on the Vegas board a lot because that's where we're getting married, and they called one woman (a  mother no less) a welfare ho because her and her FI were going to get married at the courthouse - for insurance purposes - before their big event later in Vegas.  They told her she was committing fraud and shouldn't have had a child!! I was absolutely disgusted... and the crazy part is that the worst ones are women who are already married!  They aren't even brides to be...
