How long does it take for them to come back? The store said anywhere between 3-4 mths but 2 of my bridesmaids that were recently in weddings said it took 2 weeks for their dresses to come back. I'm asking because I gave the girls a deadline of Dec 17th to order dresses, but of course, many have excuses about Christmas and stuff. The wedding is in May, when should the deadline be?

Leave the deadline as is but I think it would be safe to put the extra pressure on them to get it ordered if they haven't as yet by mid January. I did that to my bridesmaids...I told them one date and I had a "cater to all the excuses date". 

I have ordered bridesmaid dresses for myself from DB and I remember getting them within 6 weeks. I think they tell you that length of time to give plenty of cushion for mishaps.

I am getting married in May and I told them December 15th.  I agree with you better to be safe than sorry.  When I spoke to DB Consultant who is real cool and has great customer service she said at the latest They should order them by January 15. So I figure we have a month to play with. DAvid's Bridal has lay away so even with Xmas they should be able to do something.  A word of caution sometimes the dresses get discontinued so you may want to talk to your consultant and see what he or she has to say about your specific dress.  If you tell me what dress it is I will ask mine about it.

I know that they say a few months.. but I have heard that a bunch of the people get their dresses in RECORD TIME...

I think that keeping the deadline is good.. because that way if they are still a lil late, it will still be in time for the dresses to come in.

My MOH got her a dress within a week of ordering and they gave her the 6 week window too. She order a sash and that came in last week and they said not til Dec. I have a deadline of Dec 15 too with an excuses extended deadline til mid Jan as well. My wedding in May too. So all of us May brides will be ok for now. But I wish they would just get them now !!

Thanks Ladies. Ok I will keep the date as is and hope that they all order them. I have one who ordered her's from ebay and got her's back in 2 weeks, it was way cheaper but the other girls are a bit scared and said they will order from BD. I'll send them a reminder email around the 1st of Dec letting them know the deadline again and hopefully most of them will go ahead and order, if not defiantly by Jan 15.

I selected my BM's dresses from David's on November 6 and my BFF ordered hers the same day. They said it would be 10 - 12 weeks before it would be delivered (they estimated the first week of January).

They called me Friday (11/16) to tell me it was here ready to be picked up. Even though we're picking hers up tomorrow, I'm not telling any of the rest of the BM's that hers got there so fast because at least one of them is a major procrastinator. In fact, I told them that the estimated delivery time was 12 - 15 weeks just so they would hurry up and get in there to order them. Besides, from the time we got engaged to the date we're getting married was less than 6 months away. Sounded great until the wedding planning started.The first person to procrastinate was me when my BFF told me that I needed to get off of my behind and we needed to start dress shopping.

They'll find out about the 10 - 12 weeks after they pay for them. I'd rather have them have their dresses early, than to have them call me and say, I waited too long and I can't get it now.
