Son's role in wedding

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking for a few months now. I am getting married March 30, 2013. My fiance has 2 boys from a previous relationship and we have a son and daughter together. His 2 older sons are going to be ushers. Our daughter (5) will be the flower girl. Our son wants to give us the rings, but he will be 9 years old. That's a little old to be holding a pillow. Does anyone have any advice on what he can hold instead of a pillow or what his role can be?

I think he can still be the bearer. He could also be a "broom" bearer if you're jumping the broom, the bell ringer/ sign carrier to announce "here comes the bride" or he can join his brothers as an usher, 9 is old enough to pass out programs and be adorable

I like PP idea. I have also seen online ring bowls and even a ring cane.

I personally love the bowls, as most esty sellers have written messages on them, dates, scripture. I also seen a DYI posting to make with your oven. We are doing the pillow, however.

Me and FI both have 9 yr olds and we have a 2 yr old together. His son will be carrying the sign that says..dad..here comes A..run while you can ! My son is going to carry the broom while pulling our 2 yr old in a wagon. He will have the ring pillow and my 2 yr old neice will be in the wagon with him holding a kissing ball ! So like Key said he can carry something differrent than a pillow or a sign or the broom. Hth

i have seen some cute ones on pintrest that say "ring security" and the young man is carrying a safe with a ring in it....

Thanks everyone for all the quick replies!!!!

My wedding is going to be small and intimate. No more than 60 guests. Our colors are teal, purple, and accents of gold. My fiance can be very involved at times. He chose the colors and the venue and has tons of other ideas. We met when i was in high school through a mutual friend. He proposed when I was in college, but I felt I wasn't ready. We had broken up and he moved to Atlanta and shortly after I found out I was pregnant with our daughter. We stayed apart for awhile and I eventually moved to Atlanta and we found our way back to each other. Its been a long journey but we are both very excited as well as our families!

Welcome to the Board.. I agree with PP about the options.. I like the broom and here comes the bride sign.. but since he wants to carry the rings, the ring bowl is a good idea.. and it's very unique. Never seen it done before..
