African American Weddings

I'm Confused....

{Probably gonna be rambling.}

My choice venue is pretty much all inclusive, which I love only having to worry about photographer, videographer, florist, and groom's cake. AND I get the outdoors ceremony that I want. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. The only thing that I've ever been concerned about was the size of the reception room. I just thought that the dance floor was kinna small. Other than that, I feel like the place and price is AWESOME!!! {My price was quoted with 150 ppl}

FLASHBACK:
The first venue we went to was a nice restaurant that also does weddings. They have several rooms and ball rooms for weddings and other events. Their food is THE BOMB! I've been to a wedding there and it was beautiful. This restaurant is also pretty much all inclusive, but I'd also have to get my cake from somewhere else. They have a spot for an outdoors wedding, but I don't think I'll like the view {as seen on the website}. But there's a nice room where we could have the ceremony and a large ballroom with a big dance floor for the reception. Their price was also great. {My price was quoted for 200 ppl @ less than $5k!}

FI likes both places but wants to go back to the restaurant to revisit {because of price}. I don't have a problem with that. But I was so set on the other place! {Not that he's gonna MAKE me pick the restaurant.} Now, I'm torn because I really like both places a lot.

AND NOW, if we go with the restaurant venue, I'll want the indoors ceremony, but I would want it to be My Fair Wedding style, with a billion candles and flowers everywhere. And then I want the reception to be BUMPIN!!!

I guess the only help you guys can give me on this is INSPIRATION for the sexy, intimate, candle filled ceremony! I  think I'll make an appt to go back to the restaurant venue this weekend! Here we go again!

    Thank goodness you still have a bit of time. Does the restaurant have your date available? Maybe having a second look will solidify your choice.  Hope it all works out in the end.

    BTW I wish I could get married in Houston. Ya'll prices are dirt cheap!

    IDK, haven't called them. But there's nothing set in stone where we HAVE to use the date we've selected. And girl please, weddings here are HIGH, but I have a budget to work with and I'm doing just that. The restaurant is the cheapest place we've seen. The highest place was about $28k. Don't let my post fool you. lol

    Just curious to the venues you looked at since I'm in the H too?

    Ditto!  Houston isn't that cheap!  I'm working with a budget also and had to truly define my "needs" from "wants"
