Your insight is needed. Is this tacky?

I live in the DC area but FI and I will be getting married in my home state which is MA. While I am excited to be going home to get married, I was also feeling like I'd be losing out on the really nice sights in the DC/MD area.

So I suggested (and FI agreed) that we take pics around the DC monument and around Annapolis, MD after we get back.

The thing is, I'd like to wear my gown (FI in a tux) and also our traditional Nigerian outfits as well when we take the pics.

Do you think it'll be tacky? It'll happen within the first 2 weekends of our getting married so it won't be like I am trying to "stretch" the wedding.

What are your thoughts?

No its not tacky at all. Thats what some couples do in lieu of Trash the Dress Sessions. I think it would be awesome, and you all can get the bridal portraits maybe missed on the wedding day.

Not tacky to me!  I've heard of lots of ppl taking pics in the attire after the wedding!!

I was concerned folks would think I was dwelling (or trying to re-live my wedding) since we would already be married at that point.
@ mahoganieyes - Thank you. I do like what was suggested as far as looking at it as in lieu of a Trash The Dress session. I also now have a name for it..."day after" :-).
@ r-chelle - Of course I'll be coming back with pics. I have enjoyed seeing other brides' special day and would love to share mine as well.

Nope not tacky at all. And think you probably spent a pretty penny on your dress, you might as well get some use out of it!!!

Not tacky at all! Hubby and I are doing it because some of the areas where we wanted to pics were not feasible with the cold front and the wind. Also one of my best friends (she was in the wedding party but dropped out at the last minute due to a life/death emergency) is a pro photog and wants to see me in my dress so she offered to do pics.
