Addressing STD's

I am totally clueless when it comes to addressing the STD's.

For a family should it be:
Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and Family

or

The Doe Family

And am I even right about the Mr. and Mrs. John Doe part for a married couple.

Sorry I am so clueless!

I'm no expert... and we emailed our STD's but for our Invitations I did "The Doe Family"

    It was easier!

    Hope this helps!

I kept my STDs pretty informal, and addressed them to:

"John and Jane Doe" (for married couples)

The Doe Family (families IF I was inviting all the children, and the children are under 18).  If I wasn't inviting the children, then just the parents names (i.e. married couples above)
If there were adult children living with their parents I did "John and Jane Doe" and beneath that a line with "Jack Doe and Jill Doe"

And for couples not married but living together, "Jane Smith and John Doe"  I put whoever we're better friends with first, so gender didn't matter the guy or girl could be first.

And if I had a friend who did not live with their bf or gf, I just put their name on the STD.  I waited until it was time to send out the invites to include their bf/gf's name on the INNER envelope and RSVP card, since people can break up in the months in-between the STD and invite.  I didn't put bf/gf's name on the OUTER envelope because I didn't want to confuse the Postman since they didn't actually live with my friend.

    Ditto mgoss.

if you go here />> http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/wedding-invitations.aspx ......it pretty much says the same stuff.

We also went a bit informal with the STD's and put First name and First name Last Name and Familiy .....if children wwer invited and under 18 like mgoss said.

We didn't do the Mr and Mrs route, but I think we will on our actual invitations.

I think it is personal preference. You could also do The Doe Family too.
