Perhaps there's a reason we don't name kids "Inigo"

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-07-28/baby-names-100-cool-uncommon-baby-names-for-girls-and-boys/

Someone took all the names from the SS database that were given to 25 kids or fewer, culled out those that were made up, random nouns, or sounded ugly (though really, isn't that just taste?), and came up with 50 names each for boys and girls.

Some of them are good - Barnabas, Olympia - but some are not popular for good reason. I mean, how many Inigo Montoya jokes will your son really stand before he takes up retaliatory swordplay?

    cool =/= uncommon.

    Naturell? Really?

Electra?  As in the complex.  Uh, no thanks.

    Domino?  No.  Jezebel?  No.

Kiernan makes me think of Kiernan Shipka (I think that's her name) on Mad Men.  (Not necessarily a bad thing, just my overall impression.)

    Tanaquil sounds like an antidepressant.

Kermit will always, always be the Muppet to me.

IMO, this list is highly subjective.

    I laughed at Imunique.

I also graduated with a girl named Sparkle.  I wouldn't be surprised if she went on to be a stripper.

H would love the name Bellamy, because Muse is one of his favorite bands. He also wants to name a boy Phinn, I think after the lead singer of The Veils. Pray to God I have girls.

Just Phinn, or Phineas? I'm not a fan of naming kids the nicknames - I think everyone should have a full name.

Also, a lot of these are cultural names. I don't think it's fair to necessarily call Raoul uncool. It does surprise me that some of those names are really that rare.

It would be Phineas, bmom, which is even worse than Phinn. Plusalso, then we'd have Phineas and (p)Herb. Not. Happening.

Unfortunately, my mind goes immediately to Phineas and Ferb.  And now I'm singing the theme song.

I like Phineas, but we know I like old people names.

Also, I don't get the Phineas and Ferb reference. What is that?

You may want to give Phineas and Ferb a chance, it is really a funny smart cartoon. May not change your life, but if you have to be stuck watching anything on Disney, I think this is it.
