Beer and Wine Calculator

I am trying to figure out how much beer and wine we are going to need.  Any suggestions?

I recently talked with a liquor retailer about this, and this is the simple formula he gave me:

# of drinking guests X # of hours liquor will be served X 1 drink per hour = total # of drinks needed

so, for example:

80 guests X 5 hours X 1 = 400 drinks needed

Furthermore... if you were to break that down into half and half, 200 beers and 200 glasses of wine, you would need:

8.3 cases of beer (24 12 oz bottles per case) 
plus
4 cases of wine (12 750 ml bottles per case [50 X 6 oz glass = 1 case])
