What if venue doesn't have a liquor license?

If the venue does not have a liquor license are you responsible for bringing the alcohol, or is it not allowed? I'm not really sure, sorry if it is a dumb question.

Talk to the venue.  Some of the venues I looked at didn't have a liquor license.  We could bring our own but to do that we had to get our own liquor license for the day.  Each state has it's own alcohol laws.

Definitely check with the venue.  Our venue didn't have a liquor license.  However, apparently it was not required in that jurisdiction so long as it was a private party, and guests were not charged to get in or charged for drinks.  There was also a provision for a one-day liquor license.  However, each state is different.

You can also get a liquor license through your caterer.  We are at a venue with no liquor license as well.

We are having our caterer provide the liquor. That way we don't have to worry able the liability if someone gets hurt. Talk to your venue and see if you can bring in someone to serve the liquor.
