It's Official..

We are having a destination wedding in Costa Rica!  We called and broke our contract with our venue this morning after lots of emails and phone calls and number crunching. It will be worth it though. I already feel so much less stress, even though I have about 2 months to pull everything together!

I look forward to being a new member of this board and will probably have lots of questions!

Congrats on switching to a DW. It's the best decision ever....you'll see. I know it seems like there's a ton to do in such a short amount of time but it's totally possible. It's a DW and doesn't have to be over the top like a wedding at home. Take a deep breath and relax everything will work out and will be amazing.

Thanks for the welcome! I think thigns will be easy because the hotel sets most of the wedding up. Really all we need to do is show up and have fun. They do decorations, flowers, a cake, and do all the work for the license and having an officant.I do want to do welcome bags so I'll have to figure that out.

I already have purchased a dress. It's extremely non traditional and I just love it. I'm not sure it's "beach friendly" but I'l lost likelyl end up wearing it still. Our photographer is thrilled to go along with us so we can get some nice photos the day before since we didn't do e-pics and photos of the ceremony and dinner. We are excited about photos! Well I am He's also going to do a modified TTD session once we're back in Chicago.

We are going to be staying at the Westin Spa and Resort. It was until this month the Paradisus Playa Conchal. Westin just purchased them but the catering director says all the staff is the same so it should be a smooth transition. There is some construction going on at the resort but they say by July the main areas should be done and the room work wouldn't effect us.

It's only an hour drive from the main airport in Liberia and they offer a shuttle. We hope to go golfing, go to the spa, explore the area a little and just have a super relaxing trip with great food. We are going to get married on July 13 but will be there for 5 days.
