Honeymoon to do's in Lake Tahoe

Hello All,
I figured this would be a good board to ask, since you probably know the area well. My fiance and I are going to South Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon in early July. We would like to go hiking, sightseeing, and do some water activities. I have checked online for good places to go, see, and places to eat; however, you guys might have a more insider information. Is there anything we should not miss?
Thank you so much in advance!

I definitely recommend going out to see Emerald Bay and then crossing the road to hike Cascade Lake.  There is a beautiful waterfall at the end and it's not too bad of a hike.  I live in South Lake Tahoe now, so if you have questions on dining, etc...email me!

    Hope this helps!

It would be fun to do a dinner or brunch cruise on the lake. The one coming to mind is the M.S. Dixie located in Zephyr Cove, but there are several other boats available.

When I am at the lake, I like to rent kayaks and go cruising around. The new craze is paddle boarding (standing on what looks like a surf board and paddling it with a big oar). I tried it two days ago and I thought it was fun (and good exercise too!).

    Beaches I would recommend:
Pope's Beach in South Lake - has fairly warm water (well, warm for Tahoe) and is pretty low key.
Zephyr Cove in South Lake- very touristy, but you can get cocktails and stuff there.
Meeks Bay (west shore) - also very popular, but the water is gorgeous. I was there yesterday and it looked like the Caribbean.
Kings Beach on the North Shore - Popular, but the water is not as cold, and you can rent paddle boards and such from vendors right near the beach

I would recommend hiking to the top of Cave Rock in South Lake to watch the sunset one night. It is a short little hike (Maybe 15 minutes), but very rocky, so be ready to climb. The view is amazing though. Ask a local how to get there.

There are lots of "hidden" beaches and all that, but I am not as familiar with those.

The Naked Fish in south lake has great sushi (but is expensive). Go to Lakeside Casino for a cheap but satisfying breakfast (great after a night out).
