Happy All Saints' Day! Share your...

Happy Feast of All Saints! I thought maybe in honor of the day, we could share some of our favorite saints...

My patrons:
St. Catherine Laboure
St. Anne
St. Elizabeth of Hungary (confirmation saint)

FI's and my relationship patrons:
St. Gianna
St. Raphael the Archangel

Other favorites:
St. Therese
Blessed Louis and Zelie Martin (St. Therese's parents! And I'm convinced that they will be named saints someday too!)
St. Joseph of Cupertino (great for students! His feast day is my birthday)
St. Luke (a patron of physicians--FI is in med school. And his feast day is my baptism day)
St. Joseph
And of course, Mary (favorite devotions/feast days are Miraculous Medal, Rosary, Immaculate Conception, Annunciation, Visitation)

Who are yours?

My confirmation patron is Therese of Lisieux.

My birthday is the feast of Januarius.

I also have particular devotion to: Thomas More, Jean Baptiste de la Salle, Francis, Clare and Dominic, and of course Mary, Joseph, Peter and Paul. Finally, I do a lot of volunteer work with a Holy Cross Group named for Andre Bessette, so we are over the moon thrilled with his recent canonization.

I love the Litany of the Saints -- it is such a powerful connection. All you holy men and women, pray for us.

i particularly enjoy Blessed Pier Gieorgio Frasatti, St Therese of Liseux, St. Giana, and Mother Theresa. I have also always have a special place for St. Anne (the parish I grew up in).  Also in university I also was very fond of the patron saints of theologians (my undergrad is in theology). In particular I asked St. Gregory the Great for his prayers.

I was at Mass tonight and we sung the Litany of the Saints and the woman I was sitting with was so excited when it started and it really hit me again about the large community of saints who are witnesses to us in faith and are cheering us on in our journeys.

I have been toying with the idea of including Matt Maher's setting of the Litany.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-labIH9tSg

We would then include saints that have helped us and inspired us.

St. Anne is my patron saint
St Joseph is FI's patron saint
St Patrick is our parish saint.
I always wear a St. Christopher and I feel like I've always been protected while traveling.

This is still new to me, so there isn't too many.

I'm a day late, but want to play =)

My confirmation saint is St. Brigid, DH's is Pope St Gregory the Great. He also has a major devotion to the Blessed Mother so I've developed more of one since we've been married as well. Other favorites/particular devotions we have--St. Gianna, St. Michael the Archangel, St. Faustina, St. Martin de Porres, Blessed Pier Giorgio, St. Joseph of Cupertino (without whom DH would not have passed organic chemistry in college, he's convinced...lol) Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Loreto

Ditto caitriona87! I still want to play.

My parish didn't require us to have Confirmation names or anything of the sort, but I definitely have my favorites. My ultimate favorite is St. Francis of Rome. She is definitely not one of the most famous saints, but she speaks to me in such powerful ways. She had her life all planned out according to her plan, and God had a completely other plan for her and she completely submitted. I am definitely in that same boat. Another favorite is St. Lucy and her amazing faith. I am constantly asking for her to remember me in her prayers. I need the blessing of faith some days more than others.

<div>I totally agree.  I love St. Francis of Rome, she is a great role model for the Church.</div><div>
</div><div>If anyone thinks that Saints are only for priests, monks, or nuns, think again.  There's plenty of married Saints.  St. Francis of Rome is one of them.  She came from a very wealthy family, but went through the plague, death of her husband, death of her small children, etc. yet led a most selfless life entrusted and devoted to God.</div><div>
</div><div>St. Gianna, same thing, also a married Saint.  She had a loving husband and was a physician and working mother of 4.  She was really a "normal" person and liked opera, skiing, and decorating her home.  She lived totally trusting God and died a most selfless death, and for that, the Church puts a spotlight on her.  If you want to read a romantic book, take a look at, "Love Letters to My Husband," which collects letters written by St. Gianna to her husband Pietro (who is still alive): <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Love-Letters-Husband-Saints-People/dp/0819844934">http://www.amazon.com/Love-Letters-Husband-Saints-People/dp/0819844934</a></div><div>
</div><div>These are some of the Saints that I recommend to engaged and married people.  These two are ordinary women.  Even we can become like them.  They are like beacons that help lead us towards holiness.</div>

    Love this book too :)
But a correction needed here... Pietro passed away this year on Holy Saturday, at age 97. Finally back together with his beloved Gianna, let us hope (and maybe someday the Church will confirm it? That would be wonderful...)

    I'm really late, but:

My patron saint is St. Flora, one of the patron saints of converts. Interestingly, her feast day is the same day as FI's birthday, which was a weird coincidence.

FI's patron saint is St. Thomas Aquinas.

<div>I totally did not know that!  It was funny because you know how people say when two marry, they become one?  Well, they said that he was already halfway in heaven. :P  I'm sure he's in heaven with Gianna, and I hope he'll become blessed or canonized, too.</div>
