Gel mani/pedi

Anyone ever had it done?? It's supposed to last up to 3 weeks, which would be nice because then my polish won't be chipping off on our honeymoon! I just wonder how it affects your nails afterwards, like if it's hard to get off and ruins your nails.

There's a deal going on for $35, which is an awesome deal. I won't be able to get french tips like I wanted to because they only do solid colors, but it might be worth it??

Can't decide if I should take a risk and go for it, or just shell out the cash for a regular mani/pedi somewhere else

I only get gel mani's....  hate acrylic nails.  They do last a long time and are a bit healthier.  I go to the nail place in Shoppingtown mall to Sonny... love him!!  I can't remember the price, but I think it's about $50.  Never had a gel pedi.

ETA:  They use a light pink gel over the white tips... which looks super natural and beautiful.  I never get the white tips painted on top.... I didn't on my wedding day either and they looked great!

I decided to just go for it. I'm sure people aren't going to be like, OMG can't believe she didn't get a french manicure. My nails are really long, so hopefully this helps them to not break so easy.

You can definitely get them off yourself (don't pay extra for it).  File them way down with a buffing block until they're not shiny anymore and then soak them in 100% acetone (from the hardware store - not nailpolish remover).  They chip/ flake off with an orange stick after about 10/15 minutes.

My nails had a ridge in them until they grew out, but it really wasn't that bad.  Not NEARLY as bad as after an acrylic manicure.  Two thumbs up - they're awesome.

Make sure you get a recommendation.  I've been to one tech who was fabulous, and my nails lasted for like 2 and a half weeks.  I've also been to another tech who was terrible and they started chipping off after 2 days!

I have acrylics right now and want the gel so bad, but I dont want to have to break off the acrylics and wait to have the gel done.

I would def suggest doing it.

And i dont believe the pedi is with gel nails...its just a pedi
