Help Me Plan a Laguna Beach Girls Weekend

Hi Ladies,I'm a San Diego Knottie/Nestie an I'm hoping you girls can help me out.  I'm the MOH but my bride insists that she does not want a bachelorette party.  She has agreed to a girls weekend with just her closest friends (4 of us all together).  I booked a room in Laguna Beach because it is central to all of us (we're coming from LA and San Diego), but I've never been and have no idea where to go or what to do?  Any suggestions for must go to bars, restaurants, etc...  We're all 30 so we'd prefer to go places that aren't packed with 22 year olds (no offense to you young ones) but we're not old maids either.  We love to dance but don't necessarily need to go to a 'club.'  We'll be there Fri thru Sun so we have two nights out.  I figure Fri night will be more casual and maybe a dive bar or pub, with Saturday maybe sushi and a not as casual night spot.  Any recs would be appreciated.TIAKaty

You could check out landmark in Corona Del Mar. It's a steakhouse/bar that has dancing later at night on Thurs., Fri. and Sat. It's on the small side but fun and a little older crowd. Mosun Sushi Saki Bar & Night in Laguna beach is right on PCH and is alway lively and crowded. They have a club attached to it but it tends to attract a younger crowd. I tend to have the best time when we just bar hop down there. if you head down to the main strip on pch, most of the bars and restaurants are within walking distance or a short cab ride.

Boy, did you ask the right girl!  I live in and love Laguna Beach!  Start your Friday night/late evening at Salt Creek Bar and Grill, which is at the southern-most tip of Laguna Beach at Crown Valley Parkway.  Their lower patio offers drinks  for $2-$3 and all appetizers are $3.00.  No joke, and the armosphere is fantasitic, just like Napa with live music, draping trees and balmy sunsets.  The valet is free, too.  Reservatioins are recommended, especially if you want a cabana, but it is not usually terribly crowded.  From there head over to HUSH, which is a great restaurant with a trendy bar that has a fabulous club like atmosphere and, IMO, is the hottest ticket in Laguna Beach.  Dress up for this place! Saturday mornig head over to Penguins, which is a Denny's type breakfast nook with the best cup of Joe in the town.  Perfect to jump start your day after a big evening out.  Freshen up at your hotel and then it is beach day at Victoria Beach, which is at the bottom of Nyes Pl. and has a private atmosphere, yet is still a public beach.  Park yourself north and you will be sitting in front of the old Ozzie and Harriettt landmark estate/mansion.  The famous sandcastle lighthouse is in front of it and a past-time for locals is to stand at the banks of the estates old saltwater swimming pool at the edge of the ocean and get splashed by the incoming waves!   Dolphin sightings are also common.  (BTW, this is where my fiance' proposed to me!)  Saturday night head to Mosun Sushi, which in spite of it's tremendous popularity, has delicious first class sushi for average prices.  You can then head upstairs to their dance club, Club M, which I believe is free with the price of dinner.  Sunday morning nurse your hangover with fresh orange juice and omelettes at The Whitehouse, which is a great brunch place with a 4-5 star chef.  The food is fantastic and not terribly expensive and it faces PCH.  Great people and hot car watching!  Pick out your future Ferrari or Bentley, or a hubby for the bridesmaids!  For the rest of Sunday afternoon, walk around downtown Laguna Beach, have ice cream or ice tea at Zink Cafe and window shop for unique tchotchkis's, jewelry and gift items.  Later, check out of your hotel and skip town early to avoid traffic.  Or head over for a manicure/pedicure with a neck massage at one of our many nail salons.  I recommend Queens for first class service and reasonable prices.  Go home with great memories.  The good thing about all these activities is that if your bride-to-be misses hubby-to-be, he can join you at any time.  All activities are couple conducive.Hope this helps.  I love this town and it is a great place to celebrate your friends upcoming nutials.  Have fun!

I agree with TygerLilly. Everything she mentioned is the best way to go. Almost sounds like she's the Amabassodor of Laguna Beach! If you're looking for dive bar or lower end clubs, stop by Hennessy's Tavern or The Marine Room both on Ocean Ave.
