Sandals? Has anyone booked w/ them? When's the best time to book?

Hi there!

I'm looking to book Sandals St. Lucia in July.  When is the best time to book, and do you know anyone that has had a less than stellar experience with Sandals?  I've only heard good things, and I know there has to be something out there that I need to know before booking.

Any info helps - Thanks!

  • I just returned from a Sandals vacation.  Loved it.

I don't know when the best time to book is, but I know it's not right now.  I'd hold off.  They frequently offer flight credits or "companion flies free" or "2 nights free" but nothing like that is going on right now.  (Just fyi, they ALWAYS have the "65% off" so don't be fooled by that countdown)

Check the site every couple of days.
  • We had a totally stellar experience with Sandals Le Toc in St. Lucia. We booked about 7 months in advance and got a great deal but a better rate came and our TA Nancy from www.myislandgetaways.com lowered it to the lower rate which saved us about $600. It was good to know that whatever rate we got  could be lowered to the lower rate so we did not feel like we were booking at the wrong time, in fact my TA was the one that brought it to my attention.

We had a butler suite and if you go to LeToc  the best butlers are Tasha and Tony-they were the bomb and certainly went above and beyond for us..... our TA requested her favorite butlers and we received a great upgrade as a surprise to us when we arrived. We had a great private pool which we thoroughly enjoyed every night at sunset.  We also took the helicopter transfer which was one of the coolest parts of our trip and  got a discounted rate for that through our TA too(saved about $50 per person over booking direct through Sandals) It was only a 13 minute helicopter ride-versus an hour and a half taxi and was totally worth it, plus the views were amazing

We had the private dinner on the beach with our own private waiter and the couples massage. Our TA handled everything in advance for us which was totally cool and great that everything was all pre-planned. All in all our experince was the best!!!

  • I've only heard good things.

My travel agent said the earlier you book, the cheaper it is.  She sent me a quote, but I sat on it and didn't book until like a month after she had sent it - rates ended up going up like $400 in that short time.  I asked her the same question you are asking, and she said the earlier you book, the better.

I have only heard good things about Sandals, and I am pretty excited for our honeymoon!

My advice would be to book now as long as your wedding plans are set for sure.  I'd also use a travel agent, they are usually no cost to you and they can get you the lowest price, and often times if they have a good relationship with the resort it can get you extra perks & upgrades.
