Invites - Where to get 'em?

Good morning ladies!

I was starting to look around the web for invites, and I can't seem to find anything like what I had in mind!  I ordered my Save the Dates from Zazzle (LOVE them!), but I wanted something fancier for the invitations - something embossed/embellished, and going with the monogram theme.  I don't want to break the bank, but I wanted to go a little beyond DIY for the invites.  I've looked at Rexcraft, Wedding Paper Divas, American Weddings, and scores of other sites, but I wonder if I need to go to a stationer?  Do they still have those?  Has anybody used one?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice!!!!

Try Chocolate Box Invitations (an ebay store). They're pretty reasonably priced.

I bought mine from einvite through costco. Go through the costco website- they are a lot cheaper than just going to einvite. Mine are embossed, very simple but very formal. They had a bunch of designs to choose from.
Stationers do exist, I think they are very expensive though.

If you have something in mind, can you maybe make a mock up and put in an Alchemy request on Etsy?  Or if you have InDesign or even Photoshop or something similar, you could design them yourself and have them printed professionally.

I designed ours and just had them press printed on linen paper, then my mom and my sister and I embossed our monograms on each of them. It really saved a lot of money doing it that way.  :)

Going off of what Aileene said, you could have Sam Flax (the art store) print them. They did an awesome job printing and cutting ours - we gave them the template with the cut marks and everything so they didn't have to charge us a design fee, and then we assembled them ourselves. Had it done in three days total.

Wow, thanks ladies!!!  I've never heard of Sam Flax or an Alchemy request on Etsy before (though I do love Etsy) - I looked them up and those are TERRIFFIC ideas!  Thanks Aileen & Pretty Parula!  Hopefully this will get me further in the right direction!

I used Rexcraft and had a bad experience. My invitations were great, but they made soooo many mistakes w/  other things I ordered that had to call them back an obscene amount of times. Like they would make a mistake, send me "new" one, and then it would be the EXACT SAME mistake!! They have wonderful stuff but you must be willing to be patient to deal with them...

I bought my Carlson invites at Parchment down in Dr Phillips. They charged me the same amount that I would have paid online for the same invitations and I got the personal touch and etiquette expertise of the ladies on staff there :)
They have shelves of invite books to choose from - it was great! I even ordered personalized notecards for my shower thank yous and they weren't unreasonably priced at all.
    That's Mrs.skWhitneyAmanda to you!
