Sad PSA and a hard learned lesson~

So even though common sense and all knottie knowledge tells us to use Reina for alterations I decided to have the ladies at Davids Bridals take care of my hems and straps.  I went in to pick her up and shes ruined.  She's all jacked up!!!!! the entire hem was puckered and uneven (all 50 yards of it) and it would take me a million words to tell you what they should have done and what they did to the straps.  They are "fixing" it (this is the second time for the straps~ they were worst than the first time!) The dress is still a beautiful dress and I like how I look in it, but its a simple dress with one beautiful detail~ the straps.... I'm fairly sure it will take a miracle for it to look anywhere near as nice as it should before my day.  To make the evening worse - I had to purchase my delinquent BMs dress~ of which there was only one in existence in her size - its in another state and has a deoderant stain.  So not only did I have to buy her dress - I had to pay extra to ship it and will have to have it cleaned.

Hard Learned lesson #1:  Use Reina!!!
Hard Learned lesson #2:  a personal one about the BM

Is that photo before or after the DB butchers had their way with it?? It still looks beautiful, but I know it is probably driving you insane!

I always ALWAYS say... never have the alterations done at the salon. The simple reason is, they go through seamstresses like crazy... they get paid crap and could care less about you.

Someone like Reina, who relies on happy customers for her lively hood, is more likely to care and listen to what you want and what you need.

I am sorry this happened to you and hopefully they are fixing all of this pro-bono. I would even try to score some extra freebies if I were you. A Bride Scorned and all that. :)

GL Hon and you look amazing in that dress!

I am sorry to hear this honey.  Maybe if they don't fix it you could go to Reina and she can try to help.  I love the dress though it is quite exquisite!

I'm so sorry you're going through this!!! In the end of the day, it won't matter because you'll be marrying your sweetheart and that's all that matter, but yes, I understand how badly you want your dress to be awesome! Just know though that most people won't be able to tell. HUUUGS

Adri, I'm so sorry this happened :( But, think of this - no one at the wedding really knows what it was supposed to look like pre-fix, but from what ypu posted here, that dress is gorgeous! Everything will work out you'll see!

And don't worry about your BM and the dress - that was very nice of you to put up the cost, but the bad part is over & it's coming - cleaned and all!
