Eva's in Orland Park

Got my dress and talked to the lady who does the order (vs. just the sales ladies)

I have updated information that I will post after work!

I am just flabbergasted by this!  Why the heck won't they just hand over the info that they have and shown what they have done (which better be everything in their power) to get your dress?!??  Why haven't they said "yes -- look, this is the date we ordered the dress, here is the confirmation number, here is what they keep telling us"... show the damn proof.  I am upset for you Renee, there is no reason you should have to get your dress SO last minute when you ordered it in plenty of time!

So are they saying it will for sure be in before the wedding, or will they not guarantee it?  AND how will they rectify this situation?  I mean -- for all they know, you have no other dress lying in the wait.  UGH.  Im sorry for you :(

oh thank God!!!  But still.... this is cutting it WAAAAY to close for comfort!  I hope that it fits perfectly and you can take your dress and walk away from this "experience"...  hugs to you!

I am so sorry to hear about this! It is horrifying that they think you are going to be able to walk out there with the dress. Hopefully it shows up tomorrow and you can walk out of there with the dress to an experienced tailor.

AAAHHHHH I hate hearing this about Eva's in Orland because that is where I ordered my dress as well.  And unfortunately this is the second case I've heard since I ordered my dress and guess what... you two are the only other brides I know that ordered from them!!!

Here is what I have heard from my friend that got married in August.. She ordered her dress about a year in advanced and she still didn't get her dress in until 2 weeks before the wedding.  She had also lost 50 pounds between the time it was ordered and when she got it and she needed major alterations in a short amount of time.  Eva's didn't have the time to alter it so her mother had to do it since it was such short notice :(  And I guess they handed her the dress in a plastic bag with wrinkles and everything and she had to time crunch to get it ready and wearable!

I hate to make you worry... and at least you know it is close.. but it seems to me that they wait to order until that last minute.  My wedding is 11 months away and I made them confirm in email that it has been ordered and they already gave me an estimated shipping for sometime in February.  So for myself.. I dont care how far away my wedding is!  I am getting that dress months in advanced from them because I will not deal with this BS!  I am so so sorry that you have to stress like this.  Let us know when it comes in and give them hell about it!

I am having a really hard time with them as well.  I ordered my dress in February and my wedding is December 4.  They told me it would be in in July and here we are in October and no dress yet.  Every time I call I get the runaround and they act like it's no big deal.  Very frustrated!!

Oh gosh, this is awful--I'm so sorry!  I don't know if this helps, but I do have a seamstress that might be able to accomodate you last minute? She's in Orland Park.

I can't believe others are experiencing this as well. What an awful way run a business.

This is obvious from all the posts above:

They are not ordering your dresses at the time you placed the order with them.

They are waiting until the last possible minute to order it from the manufacturer.

This probably has to do with THEM PAYING the mfgr for the dress. If they are behind in payment, the mfr won't ship the gowns.

If you are going to order from this vendor I suggest giving a faux wedding date of 6 months sooner than your actual date.
