Need Cake Bakery recommendations for Groom's Cake

Hey girls!  I need some suggestions on where to get a Groom's Cake in the city -- looking specifically for red velvet   We are serving it for our rehearsal dinner.  Thanks

Sweet Mandy B's makes amazing red velvet cupcakes so I am sure that their cakes would be equally delicious.  You aren't going to have it made into an armadillo are you?  HA!  I am sorry, I just couldn't resist making a stupid Steel Magnolias joke, heehee:).

Would highly recommend Vanille Patisserie.  We had velvet cake for our wedding cake and got so many compliments on how good the cake tasted - especially being a fondant cake. 

I know Vanille does groom's cake so definitely give them a call for a tasting - they will make "mini cakes" for you to take home to try and taste at your leisure.  They were HUGE!

They made our groomscake and it was amazing! They were the cheapest I found in town to do a 3D cake--she actually made it bigger than we asked for and didn't charge extra. PIB on the first page ("the deed is done")

Cost for those is around 10/slice--not too bad! I also looked in Sugar Syndicate and they were comparable--around 12/slice. Alliance was way too expensive for what we wanted (they asked around 700)

I really like Bittersweet.  Sue is the wedding cake person there and she worked with me to get a Halo helmet little cake.  Its gum paste (?) and small but only $60.
