Question about Garretts

I have a question for all you Chicago area brides. I lived in Chicago for four years in my early 20's and still love the city. Unfortunately due to life, we dont get there much any more, but  we want to tie something "uniquely Chicago" to our wedding. We are thinking of having Garretts popcorn as our favor. My question is this: I know at the stores they sell the large bags of "Chicago Mix", do you know what the current price is for that, and how many gallons is in the bag?  I'm trying to figure out a cost comparisson on whether it would be just cheaper to get the 6 gallon tin from the website, or make a trip to the store and buy the popcorn in person.

Yes I am!  Hi to you too!  Have fun in the city, downtown is beautiful for the holidays. I used to love going to the Christmas market in front of Daily Center. So Much fun.

Garretts is a great idea!!!!  I love the chicago mix popcorn and think thats a good idea for a favor. I know that the medium bag cost about $12-$15...you might be better off trying to call someone in the company and inquiring about special pricing for a wedding and because you are interested in order such a large quantity...? good luck!!!

Well they arent very accomodating. Ive emailed them and they just refer me back to there website.  Oh well.

I had  Garretts at  mine.  The  little  individual bags are 3.50 each.

 A medium bag  does not  cost  12-15. I know I just bought some  on monday  it was 9.75 ,  may be if you  buy  the tin it is 12-15

My company  buys insane  amount of popcorn  from  them. Emailing them  from the website  goes   to their  regular customber  service.   Here's I suggest: Call  their corp accounts which  handles  their  larger  orders.  866-676-7267.  They  are very  helpful. The little  bags  are 3.50 each and  if you  are nice, you  may get a 15% discount.

I considered the same idea for my wedding favors but it is quite expensive! As an alternative I will be making welcome baskets for my out-of-town guests and using the 6.5 gallon bucket that makes 50 bags per bucket. For $150 this is much more affordable and a great way to share  a local treat...YUM!!!

My friend did this for her wedding, and the guy she spoke with at corporate gave her a really good idea.  If you order the large tubs, they will provide you with bags.  You can then fill them yourself, which is way cheaper than buying the individual bags at $3.50.  She would have done that, but she didn't want to deal with it so she just ordered the individual bags.  Hope this helps!
