Stores OTHER than Michael's..?

I am on the hunt for a guest book and card box. I pretty much loathe everything at Michael's (why do they have great invitations but sucky everything-else?) and don't have enough time left to DIY (since the big day is SUNDAY!)

Anyone have any ideas for where else I can go? Ordering online at this point is risky, unless I uber-rush the shipping.... but for the life of me I can't figure out any other brick-and-mortar stores that would have what I need.

HELP! FAST!

Joann Fabric, TJ Maxx/Home Goods, Marshalls?  They have hat boxes you could easily turn into a card box... as for a guest book, what about Border's or Barnes and Noble?  Possibly The Afternoon (in Mall of America) as well.  Check out Craigslist too, there are tons of wedding card boxes on there!  GL!

You could try Hallmark for a guest book.

I think what I'm going to do for the card box is just find a big-ish cardboard box, wrap it really nicely in our colors, and make a hole somewhere for the cards to go in. That would be simple enough to DIY in an hour or so.

Do you live near Ikea? I think in the home organization section, or maybe in the office area, they've got a bunch of pretty storage boxes packed flat that you just fold into shape. Some of them are really nice w/metal accents. You could maybe use one of those.

I agree w/schmood; Home Goods or Marshall's would be a good place to look for a decorative box.

What about a cute mailbox? You can find those everywhere. As for the guest book, find a coffee table book you like (they usually have good ones on clearance at Barnes and Noble) and have the people sign by their favorite picture.

Home Goods for sure,  They often have multiple boxes in the same style that you could easily stack if you want that tiered look.  I loooooove Home Goods.

I could lend you my card box. I made it for our AHR:

Here is the best pic I can find of it, left hand corner. It is a Crate and Barrel box that I wrapped in Mr and Mrs wrapping paper.  let me know.

I second Paper Source and Archiver's.  Archivers has albums you can easily personalize.

We're doing the mailbox thing. We bought the cheapest one at Home Depot ($8) and spraypainted it ivory, and my SIL is putting our last name on it with "Just Married" on the flag. Super cheap, easy and fast.

But if you want something out-of-the-box, I'd definitely check out what PPs said: Marshalls/TJMaxx, or Ikea always has awesome containers for things.
