STD's sent

So we sent the STD's and I thought I calculated the cost for the reception correctly.  Now I don't think I did and we may have invited some extra people we really didn't want but thought we needed to to meet our food and beverage minimums.  The STD's just had our wedding website and date on them.  We are also having a separate reception in St Louis, MO after wedding as FI's extended family is from there.  We will be sending them an announcement and then info on the St Louis reception later.  For those that we sent an STD to, would it be impolite or weird if we didn't end up inviting them to the wedding but just sent them an announcement even after we've sent them a STD?

Re: STD's sent

  • Sorry, but everyone who receives an STD must be invited to the wedding. To bait-and-switch your guests would be really rude.

    This.
  • Same as PP.  You need to invite everyone that you sent an STD to.  It would very rude not to.
