RSVP food choices

I hope this doesn't sound complicated but here it goes... We are having a sit down dinner and RSVPs will be sent out with guests needing to indicate a dinner selection, of which there will be 2 options plus a kid dinner. My dilemma is, if I have a family of 3 or 4 etc and they choose 2 steak options and 2 chicken options, how do I know how to indicate each persons dinner selection on their place cards.  Any ideas would be a tremendous help!!!
Thanks  you

I will need to be doing this myself, so I'm glad you posted this!

I got an invite this spring that needed this indicated. From what I remember, they had my FI's name and then listed the two choices below his name with a line to check and then my name with choices below. Something like this....

    Mr So and So
    _______chicken whateveritwas
    _______beef somethingoranother

    Mrs So and So
    _______chicken whateveritwas
    _______beef somethingoranother

I thought that worked pretty well and seemed very self-explanatory, which is always good! Was probably somewhat time-intensive to do though.
I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else suggests.

I have seen where it says: Please initial each guests dinner choice below.

Then you would write CL under chicken and TK under chicken as well if both people wanted chicken.

    I've also seen this:

    Attending:              Meal Choice (Circle One):
    ______________  Chicken Beef Veg Kids
    ______________  Chicken Beef Veg Kids
    ______________  Chicken Beef Veg Kids
    ______________  Chicken Beef Veg Kids

    __ Unable to attend

    (With nicer words, of course!)

Another option would be to say something like "Please place your initials by your choice" so you'd have two lines like this
    ___________Chicken
    ___________Steak

And they could write their own names or initials in. Hopefully if two people in the same house have the same initials they'd figure out to write their actual names in, not just initials. Don't forget to post a pic once you figure it out. I know a lot of us are going to be having this same issue.

This is a great post! Way early for me but nice to think about these kind of things early on so I dont stress out later...

I like LittleSweeties idea and this is why:
When i read the ideas about initials... what if its one of those families (I have many friends like this) Where they have 3-4 kids and thought it would be cute to all name them with the same first letter! Aghhh so all the initials would be the same... what a nightmare :)

Good question... I need to do the same thing (soon!!!) and was planning on the initial thing.  And props to rosebc118  for pointing that out- I never even thought of what happens if they have the same initial.

If you decide to write out the person's name on the RSVP for them (as with Izzygrim's suggestion) keep in mind that you'll need to either hand-write or print a separate RSVP for each invitation.  It could get very time-consuming if you have a large guest list.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!  I also like the idea from LittleSweetie. I hadn't thought about families with same initials so that was a big save on misery it would have cost me upon receiving RSVP's back. As soon as my little brother sends the final products back to me I will try to figure out this computer thing and show you what he created.

Thanks again to everyone and more suggestions are appreciated!!
    Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

I wasn't interested in making two hundred separate RSVP cards with guests's names so we just listed the choices with a line next to each one and asked guests to write their name next to their choice. It worked great!
