I had a very negative experience at Wendy’s Bridal at 6339 Sawmill Road Dublin, OH 43017 in late January 2011 .  During my appointment I noticed their bridal dresses were out dated and over priced.  I also felt very pressured to buy a dress that I wasn’t in love with, from the manger and owner, Lil, who was in that day.  They also tried to add on extra expenses like under garment and skirts, to increase the over all price.   I had not experienced these “add ons” at other boutiques in Columbus, neither Trumpington’s in Worthington and Elegant Bride in Dublin required the purchase of an under garment or skirt, instead they were included with the gown.  At Wendy’s I was expected to pay boutique prices but not get the boutique experience or have the high quality of dress, I was looking for.  My price range was $1,000.  I had an awful experience at Wendy’s that ruined what is suppose to be a magical moment with white dresses.  Ladies don’t let Wendy’s steel that special moment away from you like they did from me!

I'm not usually "that" girl, but this sounds fishy. You joined over 3 years ago yet this is only your second post. And according to your bio you're getting married on Dec. 1 this year -- a Thursday. If you're for real, your approach probably isn't going to convince other girls to take your advice.

I don't have experience with Trumpington's but I do have with both Wendy's and Elegant Bride and with Lil at Wendy's.

We actually liked Lil a lot and recommended to several engaged friends that they book appointments with her if they were going to Wendy's.  Wendy's does not include the price of undergarments (bras, crinolines, etc) in their dresses so yes, they would have been an extra expense.

DD's choices came down to a dress she'd tried on there and a dress at Elegant Bride (she tried on dresses at Alan Ray, Wendy's, Elegant Bride and Bridal & Formal in Cincinnati).  Bridal and Formal was our worst experience, by far.NOTE: FDIL had a great experience there and her wedding gown and her mother's dress are both from there. She did not have as great an experience shopping for bridesmaids gowns there, consequently they are coming from the new Alfred Angelo store in Dublin.

We did not feel the dresses at Wendy's were out of style, it really came down to DD
loving the dress at Elegant Bride.

One thing that bothered us about Wendy's is that DD had the bridesmaids go in and try on a bridesmaids dress there. They would not provide the measurements of the girls to them, except for one who had (at our recommendation) worked with Lil and just ordered her own wedding gown from them the week before.

Now a lot of people would say why would they provide them if you don't order from them but men's tux shops do it all the time. Yes, it takes their time but it's about looking at the big picture, provide that little bit of customer service and people will not only come back themselves but they will tell others. Refuse to and they also tell other people and they don't come back themselves.

We highly recommend Elegant Bride in Dublin. Fabulous customer service, bras and crinolines are sewn in and included in your prices. THeir dress prices were actually about $1,000 less than DD had budgeted for herself.  She loved the dress, the lower price was a bonus.  The woman they have do alterations does a fabulous job and is VERY reasonably priced.

So the OP's comments about Wendy's, while not ringing true for us - she is right about Elegant Bride.

Elegant Bride is a smallish shop and while they do offer some bridesmaids and MOB/MOG gowns, their focus is brides and they devote their space to wedding gowns. They also havea really great selection of shoes, veils, tiaras and other bridal jewelry, etc.

I had a great experience with Lil, as I've read many previous posters have as well.  I also found the best selection of dresses at Wendy's.  Lil did such a fabulous job with me she actually picked out the dress I ended up purchasing.  She was also the exact opposite of pushy.  The first time I went in I didn't buy anything even though I really loved one dress.  She told me to take some time and think about it and if it was truly my dress then I would be back.  Sure enough, she was right, and I came back and purchased that dress.
