help i'm peeling!

I have never posted on here before, but I read for advice when I have the time and now I have a bit of a problem. I was nice and tan (w/o getting burnt) for most of the summer. Then I sat for the bar exam and started peeling. I don't know if it was the stress from that or what, but now my upper back has started peeling and my wedding is next Friday (August 21st). My back looks like a leopard and I am freaking out! Any suggestions on repairing the damage in time would be greatly appreciated (I have never peeled like this in my life!) THANKS!!!

Oh geeze!  Maybe if you go to a spa they can do a salt scrub massage and get all of the dead skin off of you...

would an airbrush tan help even out the skin tone (ditto what Rebecca said to do first)? I've never had one, but some of the girls on here have.

Also, aloe and lotion it up! Make sure you keep it moisturized.

I would look into someone applying a sugar scrub to your back rather than paying a lot at a spa. I would use sugar over salt because it may burn. After I would try mystic or airbrush. However, after working in a tanning salon myself, make sure you test it out as soon as possible and do one more treatment 2 to 3 days before the wedding. Hope that helps!!-Jenn

Thanks for the suggestions! I will go try the sugar scrub and then hopefully airbrush tan this week!

I'm not a dermatologist, but I've had this problem before, and this is what I would do:First take a long hot bath so you're skin is nice and soft, then use some kind of a gentle scrubber to exfoliate the skin.  You'll probably need help with this since it's on your back.  You don't want to rub too hard since this will irritate your skin and possibly lead to more skin problems, but nice gentle circles should do the trick.  I have a natural sea sponge thing that I use to exfoliate, and it works really well -- gentle, but effective.  Once you've dried off, I would then put on some lotion with salicylic acid in it.  This is often found in acne facial products.  It helps to speed up the turn over of your skin cells.  I would repeat this process every night until it seems the peeling has stopped.  I wouldn't exfoliate anymore than you have to since, like I said before, this can irritate your skin too much and cause redness or other problems, but the salicylic acid won't hurt you at all so I'd continue using that every day.  A spray tan might help even out your color, but until you get the peeling to stop, the spray tan will just come right off, so I'd wait to do that until a day or two before your wedding.  Hope this helps!
