When the Cat's Away....

When FI/DH is out of town or away, do you use the time to see girlfriends/family/etc or do you lay around on the couch watching Harry Potter marathons?

DH is leaving after work for his annual golf trip with friends and wont be back until Sunday and I am doing NOTHING. Besides letting the cat sleep in bed with me which he is not allowed to do when hubby is home.

He's always so worried about me having nothing to do or not really ever going out, and I have to explain that I don't remember half of my mid-twenties because I spent so much time at the bar, and quite frankly, I'd rather lounge around the house in my comfy pants reading a book!

OMG! I do absloutely NOTHING! I lay around, lazy eating chips and cookies and I don't clean up! LOL

I LOVE when FI isn't around.  Don't get me wrong, I love when he is around, but it's always a nice break when he isn't around.  Sometimes even if it's just for a night when he goes out with the guys, I love a night to myself.  What's weird is that I don't do anything differently -- I usually just sit around and watch TV, clean up, etc. 

He feels bad and he'll ask me if I want to go out with him -- he doesn't realize how much I love doing nothing ALONE.  :-)

for it me, it really just depends, as FI travels a LOT for work, so I have a lot of time to myself.  this week I'm catching up on True Blood and Hung (Harry Potter doesn't sound bad either.....), as well as a few projects....next week I'll go stay with my friend and her kids.

I did this <strong>exact thing</strong> last week on my extra day off. FI asked if I was pregnant. Gee thanks. LOL.

I typically run errands and do things around the apartment. The last couple weeks I have used it to my advantage and done absolutely nothing. Sometimes, it's the best thing in the world.

DH travels alot for work. I usually spend the first night he's gone laying on the couch doing nothing. Then I plan fun things with the girls. Except this time I have tons of plans with the girls! Tonight my friend Tracy is coming over to look at wedding pictures. Tomorrow is Mexican with one of my sorority sisters. Friday is dinner with my MOH. Yeah for girl time!

We currently don't live together and only see each other on the weekends.  I am definitely more of a pig when he's not around!  Pretty much every Friday when he's coming up, I race home from work so I can tidy up the place before he gets there, lol.  I also tend to eat more crap food (he gets on my case about eating healthy) and watch more trashy TV (because I don't have to listen to him complain about brain rot).  Honestly, I kind of like living separately!  I'm excited about eventually moving in together, but I will probably miss all the time I have to myself.

I'm usually really lazy when he's gone or even is going to be late coming home from work.  I usually like to have everything picked up before he gets home.  I'll eat food that I shouldn't and will leave the house a mess until just before he's do home.

I'll let you know after this weekend.  FI is having Guys weekend up north so he will be gone Friday through Sunday and then he has to be out of town for work tues and wednesday.  I am not going to know what to do with myself.

I'd be on the couch in my pj's watching trash TV and movies and drinking wine.  I LOVE having the house to myself!

I too am lazy when FI is not home...but he doesn't go away very often.  He is usually either at work or home doing homework for school.  So when he is gone I try to take advantage of the situation!
