Groom's Cake

Is anyone doing/did you do a groom's cake?

My fiance is a HUGE Michigan/Michigan football fan (He went there for undergrad and we're having our ceremony/reception on campus). Anyone have any cute cake ideas? I love this one but I have a feeling it would be expensive with all the details/fondant. However, Jefferson Cakery where I ordered the wedding cake will give us 30% off any other cake we order EVER (How cool is that?).

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks! :)

    A Michigan cake sounds really cute!  Double check with your bakery about any Block M licensing issues, I work for the University and whenever we have cakes for staff retirements, etc we have to avoid using the Block M because they would charge us a licensing fee!!

    Maybe just get a cake shaped like a football, and I have seen online mini-helmets from various websites, you could get Michigan ones and surround the football cake with that. I'd have a hard time justifying something that elaborate the night before spending a fortune on a wedding, but that's just me.
