Hi Gals,
FI and I are trying to find a great place for our rehearsal dinner in the Seaport District. We stopped by Anthony's Pier 4 last week and absolutely LOVED the views from the function room. We thought it would be a great place to host the RD! I started doing some research and have seen TONS of negative reviews, which making us have 2nd thoughts. Most of ther reviews we read were from people dining in the restaurant and not the function halls, but I wanted to see if any of you had any experiences good or bad there?
Thanks so much!
Re: Anthony's Pier 4 - Boston
I'm not a huge fan of Anthony's Pier 4 - I find it a little old-persony. The food is kind of bland and the menu is pretty unadventurous. The decor (and the staff uniforms) are a total 70's throwback (and not like they are trying to be retro, more like they just haven't gotten around to updating in 35 years). On the upside, the location and the views are amazing.
That being said, if you are stuck with the seaport idea, it might be your only option. I know there are other restaurants in the area, but I don't know about with function rooms (I'm assuming the LTK in seaport and mortons don't have them - I haven't been to either). I don't think Salvatores, Menton, Sportello or Barlows have any function areas. Amrheins in Southie does have one, but I think I would just go with Anthony's Pier 4 over Amrhein's because although the food is probably slightly better at Amrheins (way more casual, but I would rather eat there), it's nothing special and at least Anthony's Pier 4 has the views.
If you wanted to venture just over the bridge into the city you could try les zygomates or Sorriso which have excellent food, staff and decor and are pretty close by and not insanely expensive. That's where I would look if I was having my wedding in seaport.
I've actually contacted Anthony's Pier 4 myself for my RD. So it's great to read all this. And I was looking into Amrheins in southie as well (seeing as they have the worry-free shuttle, and I need free/public transportation for my guests from Hyatt in East Boston).
So any other comments about it are welcomed!
