Winter wedding DON'T (PIP)

Don't make your bridesmaids stand up for your outdoor ceremony without any kind of wraps because they will look miserable. Like this:

(from a college friend's FB page...it was her wedding)

ETA: Ok, maybe they don't look miserable, but none of them look particularly comfortable.

Re: Winter wedding DON'T (PIP)

  • That's awful. I'd go with either miserable (or meth-y) - you know, whichever works.
  • Duh, they should be wearing shorter dresses. And flip flops.

  • Wow. I'm having an outdoor ceremony in October, and I'm planning on buying the WP ladies great big pashmina wraps in appropriate colours.

  • The one of the left DOES look miserable.
  • Dude, I would have flat out refused. Or worn a jacket regardless of what the bride said. That's just plain cruel.

I can't imagine having an outdoor wedding with snow on the ground anyway. Over the top bridezilla-y.

Outdoor weddings in the middle of the Texas summer don't work for me.

ETA: Because then you get pictures like this:

Her wedding day was incredibly hot and outdoors. This was taken so that she could cool off.
  • That's what I was wondering. Who thinks it's a great idea to have a ceremony outdoors when it's snowy? I get that snow pictures look nice, but having the actual ceremony outside? BS.
  • That's really too bad.

My friend's ex-wife's sister got married on literally the coldest day of the year, in Manitoba, and MADE her BP do outdoor photos. I've looked at her photos, no one looks even a little happy.

  • I don't think I'd have a wedding outdoors in the snow! We're getting married in October. If it's nice, it'll still be 70, but I'm probably going to give the girls some nice Cardigans or something to wear if they're cold.

My mom was just harrassing me about this yesterday because the dresses will be strapless. I told her I would get Cardigans- are they supposed to wear 80's dresses with sleeves or something?

If it's ridiculously cold, I will move the ceremony indoors.

  • Exactly, if you want to do outdoor pictures fine. Like another one of my FB friends:
Other than the boys jumping (which I find weird) it's a lovely (and WARM) photo

  • I'm worrying that it will be cold for us in MAY. I will be buying some sort of wrap to have on hand for each of them just in case. That is just nuts.

Dresses may be easier to take in than let out, but guest lists are not. -- kate51485
  • Future, that is very Sound of Music-ish. haha
  • Wow, talk about not taking your BM's into consideration. We're going to attempt an outdoor ceremony at the very beginning of October but we have our reception venue is going to be our back-up. If it's even slightly cold/rainy...inside we go. I'm not putting my BM's through that, let alone our guests. Bridezilla much?

hahaha I can see that. I was friends with the groom in highschool and he does have 7 brothers and sisters and they did sing in the church choir...hmm...

hahaha If I told you, I'd have to kill you.
  • I would of wore my winter coat if the bride wouldn't of gave me some sort of cover up.
