Shouldn't I be nervous?

Well the wedding is this upcoming weekend and I'm not nervous at all!  I'm just ready for it to be here!  So much planning and everything and it's finally here.  Is there anyone else out there who is calm, cool and collected? I thought I would be a nervous wreck!  I think I might start freaking out the day before.  I think that is when it will hit me...right???

You know when it hit me? When the music started playing for the ceremony. I was like "Wow, this is it huh?" Otherwise, I was calm in the weeks leading up to it, even at the rehearsal the day before.

  • I don't know, but if you aren't nervous, I think it means your marriage is doomed!!1!!11...11
  • I say, count your blessings and don't jinx yourself.  ;-)I was fine until the morning of.  Even then, it was nervous excitement as in "hurry up and get her" (our ceremony was in the evening) than anything.

  • Gee thanks CubsGirl! LOL  I just think that I've planned and planned and I have nothing to be nervous about really.  I do have to say that we are both a little anxious about being in the spotlight all day and having everyone watching our every move!
  • Just don't think about it....I think the more you *think* about being nervous, the more you will actually want to *be* nervous. Just relax and remember to enjoy your new husband!
  • ggmae- That's exactly what my sister told me. I was joking around about having cold feet when we were wedding dress shopping. (Not about FI...I've just never really seen myslef as the marrying type.) Anyway, she said, "Just wait. Just wait until you're standing in a room all by yourself b/c everyone else has left to go up the aisle and you hear that music start to play...just wait!" lol Thanks sis!

  • Everyone posts this the week before their wedding.  If you aren't stressed, great!  Why wish for it?  Enjoy this week and your weekend because it flies by so fast!

  • I haven't been nervous at all, but now it's in less than 3 weeks and I've started having wedding anxiety dreams. Last night I had a stupid dream where it was time for me to get ready for the wedding and I had forgotten to buy any makeup.  The night before it was something about one of my sisters refusin to attend the wedding for some dumb reason.  And a couple of nights ago I had a dream where the guests showed up and there were no seating assignments. OK now I feel totally lame.
  • Judging how I've reacted to other giant events in my life, I think I will be freaking out for weeks beforehand, but then in the last days before the wedding -- I'll calm down. It's what I do -- obsess for months, but when it's time to do it, I just take a deep breath and chill. If nothing else, what can you REALLY do this week? All of the planning's done, and what's going to happen will happen. Congratulations!
  • I hear you on the wedding dreams! I've been having those for about the last month or so.  Silly ones to! I think I'm just glad the planning is FINALLY done.  Now all I have to do is show up so I'm just going to sit back, relax and enjoy!  Thanks to everyone who has given me advice along the way! : )
