H&S Bridal Reviews?

I'm trying to figure out where to order my dress from. I don't want to order it from the place I tried it on because when I asked the price of the dress, they quoted me a couple hundred more than what was on the price tag and then told me that doesn't include tax or bustling, though alterations were included. Has anyone ordered their dress from H&S Bridal? Rants or raves about them? Their alteration policy? Pricing? Any help would be much appreciated!

Whereabouts in the city are you located and what dress are you looking for? If you check your designer's website, usually there are a list of stores it recommends.  I purchased two Maggie Sotteros and used two different stores, both on the website.  One store, located in Brooklyn, gave me a good cash price; no such luck with the store in Chinatown but even with tax I got a good deal. So depending on your dress, if you go to smaller dress stores and willing to do a cash transaction, you can sometimes negotiate for a good price.  GL.

Thanks for the advice. I live in Queens. I've been doing the same thing- my dress is by Blue by Enzoani. I've heard they're pretty strict with the pricing, but I'm hoping to see if I can negotiate either with pricing or alterations thrown in or maybe a better price on the BM dresses. I've called most of the stores they list and thus far only one store has it and it's a store I already went to and had a very bad experience with. I just want to find a place that's not going to be giving me a headache for the next 9 mos.

Another option, have you considered either (1) buying it preowned (check out preownedweddingdresses.com - sometimes, folks sell new and sample dresses, too), or (2) buying online, since you've already tried it on and know your size; you can get some certificate of authenticity to make sure it's a real dress if you are worried about getting ripped off.In both cases, you can find folks or stores selling samples or in the latter, which have an overstock and have little overhead so can offer a good price.  The alterations you'd have to get here once the dress is back, but there are lots of knotties that can recommend one in the 5 boros.

RK Bridal will beat any price (of an authorized seller) by 5%. I am not sure how they are with alterations though.
