Don't use Fantasy Bridals in Robbinsville

Hi Ladies:I just want to share my experience with you, so that none of you have to have the same thing happen to you.I used Fantasy Bridals in Robbinsville, NJ to order my bridesmaids their dresses. Luckily I did not use them to order my wedding dress! My girls and I went to the store at the end of January, the girls placed their orders. I did have one bridesmaid that was slow to order her dress but she did call in the beginning of March and place her order. --- I was under the impression everything was fine and the order was placed. In June, I called to follow up about the delivery of my dresses and I was told by the worker there that they would be in on July 19th. July 20th rolls around and I get a call from the manager, Rose, who informed me that the order was never put in by one of her workers because they quit! Well needless to say I became very upset and luckily had one of the Bridesmaids deal with the situation. She first asked me if I could come in with all the bridesmaids on the day before the wedding to have alterations done - when I flat out refused this -- She assured me, and "promised" that they would be in on 9/15/09. (My wedding is October 3rd). I contacted the store on 9/15/09 -- guess what -- no dresses. I told her to call the vendor and get back to me asap once she had a delivery date and she promised she would call back-- no return call....I contacted her on 9/16/09 -- still no dresses-- Then Rose had the audacity to try to lie saying she already spoke w/ my Bridesmaid which is why she didnt call me back, then insisted that she never told me the dressed would be delivered on 9/15/09 and stated they would be in on 9/22/09. Well its now 9/17/09 - 16 days until my wedding -- I have no dresses and an unsettling feeling that I will not have bridesmaid dresses in time. Guess I will be going to a department store. Please ladies if you do use them, be right on top of them, make sure they acutally placed you order -- and my recommendation to you is to skip this store and head straight over to the Bridal Suite in Hamilton. They are much more professional and deliver things on time! Thanks for reading!

I am so sorry you have to deal with this.  I can't even imagine.  Is there anyway you can call the manufacturer yourself to check and see?

Just in case they don't come in time (and I am praying for you they do) I have been in a few weddings where we did not wear true BM dresses and bought dresses from Saks, Bloomies and Lord &Taylor.  People loved they way the looked and if you can find everyone's size it is truly a one day thing.  Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

::anxiously awaits vendor's reply::That sucks about your dresses, but I'm sure you'll be able to find something just as nice at a department store.

Seabass, LOL.  I hope everything works out for you!  If it makes you feel any better, I have a friend who was a BM in her brother's wedding and their dresses were very late and didn't show up till the week before the wedding and everything worked out just fine!

ahaha Seabass, I was thinking the same thing. I'm so sorry this happened to you.  I can't believe people think this is ok.  Some people should just not be in this industry.

What color are your dresses?  I was in a wedding last sept and because there was only 2 BMs the bride did not want to go the traditional route of ordering dresses.  The closer we got to the wedding the more it seemed like we were never going to find anything.  In the end, we went into Ann Taylor and they had their last seasons BM dresses on super sale.  I am not sure if they always carry dresses available for purchase off the rack like that...but if you are worried, I would give them a call.  I think 2 of the in NYC have the "Celebrations" sections (i have never seen it in NJ).GOOD LUCK!!!!

I'm sorry to hear that you have to deal with this, what incompetence.  Agree with Neilly that the Department Stores are a good option.  Even if one store does not have all of the sizes in stock, they can have them shipped from other stores to your local store.  Also, Nordstroms has a great online selection and their alterations services are very good (at least at Garden State Plaza).   Good Luck.

This is one of the first negative reviews I've seen of this store, honestly, and I've been posting here for about 2 years. I've also been to the store several times - once for my own wedding dress, once for BM dresses (just to browse) and once for another knottie's BM dresses - and always had a good experience. I have to say, I sympathize though. The store my BMs ordered their dresses from - a different store - also did not place the order until 2 months later b/c they put my MOH's order in a different place than the rest. However, my BMs got free alterations out of the deal because I called and complained so often.

Like PP this is the first time I have seen a bad review on FW. I ordered both my BM dresses and my wedding dress from FW.. I have to say though I was not a fan of Rose. She was abrasive and not professional..and I repeatedly asked her to re-inforce the bustle on my dress which broke 15 minutes into my reception! You need to talk to Anna Marie. She's the head honcho there and one of there and one of the sweetest women I have ever met. Goodl uck!

That does seriously suck. Hopefully it will still all work out, but if you need another option, I got my bridesmaid dresses off the rack at Group USA in Secaucus. (And I *love* them... =)

That sucks.  I ordered my dress and my BM's dresses there and didn't have any issues.
