MGs w/ Macy's registry

When guests purchased a registry item for you before your wedding, a percentage of each purchase would be put toward a gift card for you after the wedding. Correct?

So, when did you receive the gift card?

TIA

Funny you say this, I just mentioned this to my fi yesterday.  So the card comes in the mail? We don't need to request it or anything?

My friend got hers about a month after the wedding (in the mail).

We got ours at the end of April 09 (Wedding was late March)

Sorry, I totally passed up all the questions!

Didn't request it. Yes, it just came in the mail. Although I was at Macys at the end of April (last year) getting some other items off our registry and the women helping me said it was in the mail (as she looked at my records)

So you can always ask them to check!

Thanks! We used some bridal shower gift cards at Macy's last night, and I completely forgot that we'll have another one coming to us from the registry.

The registry completion discount, plus the 25% friends & family promotion, helped us get some good deals. We bought a casual dinnerware place setting (we now have 6), the KitchenAid ice cream maker attachment, and a set of 600-threadcount sheets.

We did the same thing this time last year! You really get some great deals. We bought a lot off our registry and got a huge discount. We are still slowly finishing up our registry. Thank goodness it's up for 2 years after the wedding!

I want that kitchenaid ice cream attachment! LOL

I didn't even know that was part of the Macy's Registry. Did you have to sign up for it origionally?

Haha, Kristen, we were debating that one for a while (along with the sheets, because they were $$$). But finally we said that we'll soon have a mortgage and kids to worry about, and when in our lives would we again be able to justify spending money on fancy bedsheets and an ice cream maker? :P (At DH's urging, we also registered for the Kitchenaid meat grinder and sausage stuffer, but we didn't get those either.)

I first heard about it on this board ... nobody at Macy's told me. But we also started the registry at the Newport Mall/Jersey City store, which sucks, so they might've just neglected to tell us.

I *think* there was something on their website that said that you can get that promotion if you sign up for a Macy's card and attach it to the registry, but it was really small and I overlooked it. I happened to notice it once someone on this board mentioned it.

we got ours in the mail, maybe a month or two later.  I felt like I robbed Macy's once everything was said and done!  lol.  And if you go buy something in the home store, ask them if your completition code is still valid...mine worked for a LONG time....I heard through the grape vine that it was good for up to 2 years, not sure how true that is though!

Wow didn't know this, and never heard it when I registered, do i have to sign up for anything?

You need a Macy's credit card in order to do the registry rewards. We signed up in store but you can also do it here: http://www1.macys.com/registry/wedding/registryrsrhome

I think it comes in 45 days? We didn't have to request it or anything. They did tell us about it when we registered...we registered in the Union Square store in San Francisco and they were so fantastic there.
