Im going back and forth on what i should be spending on favors versus what i really want to give out..... Anyone here do M&Ms custom color favors?  How many bags (7 oz) or pounds did you buy to make small bags...

    Are the M&Ms your number one choice for favors? 

    I obviously haven't used them as a favor since my wedding hasn't happened yet, but I bought them as a Valentine's gift for FI like 4 years ago and I remember them being unnecessarily expensive.

    Love the idea, but hate the price of those things.

    they are actuallly bottom of the barrel!  Lol--- i want to do truffles from Bromilows but they will cost us 400.... and I'd rather spend less on a favor so I can donate more to Smile Train.....

    i used the m&ms
    we got 5lbs each of black, pearl and platinum and then we also got 5lbs of personalized ones (just our name and wedding date) in 2 of the colors (i don't remember which combo of the 3 we got though)
    we had some coupon codes from retailmenot.com
    and that was for 180 jars that i *think* held about 40 mms each

    Oh wow!!  Guess the price may have dropped a bit??  haha  Or maybe it's because I had them personalized with our names??  I bought FI a couple of the little bags and couldn't believe how much they cost!

    I think the 5lb bag is cheaper to do and yes, personalization is more expensive.

    personalization is more (a lot more) which is why we only got 5lbs of personalized...i wasn't going to, but mom (our financier) said we should, so we did...
    the 15lbs of un-personalized mms were only a little more $ than the 5lbs of personalized....

    We used color M & M's and for 120 guests we ordered 20 lbs of them. We had to do M & M's b/c I am obsessded with the yellow M & M so it only seemed right !  I originally only thought that we would need 10 lbs but I had jars that I wanted to fill. Here is a pic

    I'm getting 25 pounds of M&Ms for about 200 favors not personalized, just in the colors of the wedding. Not exactly cheap but the cheapest I could find for good edible favors.

    There's a 15% going on now. I'm going to order this weekend for mine. Not sure how many pounds to get though :/ Thinking 5 pounds personalized, 10 pounds just colors. that's SO much chocolate!

    we ordered chocolate covered pretzel favors from The Bride Oganizer.  they were delish and a REALLY big hit!! everyone loved them
